FKIP – The Student Team of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta won 2nd place in the National Innovative Learning and Education Competition (AILEC) poster competition ) 2022.
Annual Innovative Learning and Education Competition (AILEC) 2022 is a national and international level competition organized by FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). This competition was held from March 28, 2022, to July 5, 2022, in a hybrid manner with the theme “Innovations for Sustainable Education”.
In this event, the PBSI FKIP UNS student team, namely Aprilia Rizki Arifah and Naufal Allam Gumelar brought the idea of increasing reading literacy with the GLS (School Literacy Movement) with the title “Improving Reading Literacy with Bubbles”. This idea succeeded in bringing them to become 2nd place in the national education poster competition.
Interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Tuesday (19/7/2022), Aprilia explained the background of the ideas promoted.
“The lack of interest in reading literacy in Indonesian society, especially students, out of 1000 people only 1 person has a high interest in reading in Indonesia, this is very unfortunate,” said Aprilia.
Then, Aprilia expressed her impression of winning this competition.
“I’m happy, thank God, all the processes paid off with the 2nd place winner,” said Aprilia.
In the end, Aprilia conveys the message that never is afraid to try.
“Don’t be afraid to try, by trying maybe you will fail, but if you don’t try you will surely fail,” concluded Aprilia.
