FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta in this case the Biology Education Student Association (BIOSFER) held a Public Lecture in the Hall of the Soemarno FKIP UNS Building on Monday (22/8/2022). This activity was attended by the Head of FKIP UNS, Head of Biology Education Study Program, Lecturers, Students of Inter-Island Exchange Program, and New Students of Biology Education FKIP UNS in 2022/2023.

This Public Lecture is carried out to be an inaugural lecture and can provide motivation in developing self-potential according to talents and interests for new students of the biology education study program and can provide curriculum information for students from the ministry program in the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program, namely inter-island student exchanges who join the biology education study program FKIP UNS.

In addition, this activity is also a motivation for new students who presented as speakers are seniors at the level of biology education students who have succeeded in obtaining achievements from the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) organized by the Ministry of Education, Research, and Culture, the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is a scholarship scheme from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to fund Indonesian students in mobility programs in leading universities abroad, as well as the Student Creativity Program (PKM) which is a tangible manifestation of research, community service, entrepreneurship, technological innovation, or written works among students, which was specifically formed by the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (KEMENRISTEK DIKTI) of the Republic of Indonesia.

Nurmiyati, S.Pd., M.Si., as a supervisor from the Biology Education Association (BIOSFER) and at the same time as a lecturer in biology education at FKIP UNS, said that this activity is expected for new student friends not only to go home or to go home or boarding schools but is expected to motivate activities that can develop talents and interests that are by their respective potentials so that they can provide benefits for the surrounding environment.

Furthermore, Nurmayati, S.Pd., M.Si., added that from this public lecture activity, new student friends will also be given how the curriculum is carried out.
“We convey that from this activity will also be given how the existing curriculum is, and once again we hope that new students must be able to develop or develop themselves according to their talents and interests so that they can be useful, not only studying home,” added Nurmiyati, S.Pd., M.Pd.,

Head of the Biology Education Study Program FKIP UNS Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si., in his remarks said that this public lecture deliberately presented speakers or speakers from friends of senior Biology Education students with achievements.
“In this public lecture activity, we deliberately presented speakers from senior biology education students who excelled because we hope that they can motivate new student friends to be able to develop their potential so that next year they can replace or continue from their seniors,” said Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si.,

In addition, Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si., added that this activity also provides information to new student friends in the world of lectures not only limited to college but there are many things or activities that can be taken or tried to develop self-potential according to the talents and interests of each so that it can provide many benefits, one of which can be achieved achievements that can be used as provisions in realizing success or ideals.

“We also welcome and welcome to join the inter-island student exchange friends in the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Aisyah Putri from Tadulako University, from Assyifatun Nazifah from Medan State University, Naomi Stefani Pohan from Medan State University, Resna Mariati Tolaik from Artha Wacana Christian University, Marietha Corneliani Jallo from Christian University Artha Wacana and Dian Anggraeni from Makasar State University, hopefully, they can immediately adapt, be comfortable, and happy in attending lectures at FKIP UNS,” added Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si.,

The Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., in his speech said that this activity was a form of inaugural lecture and became a form of motivating activity for new students, whereas speakers were outstanding students and biology education students themselves so that new students could know that in lectures at FKIP UNS not only lectures and then went home, however, many things can be used or followed to develop and explore one’s potential by the passion you have.

“There are many forms of activities or programs that exist outside the campus to be able to be followed, including student exchange programs or students both between islands, participating in certified internships, participating in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program which is an opportunity to study at leading universities in the world funded by the government for one semester, participating in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) both in the field of research, community service, scientific work, and others that can be used as achievements for students later after graduation and all are supported from faculties and universities,” added Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si.,

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana also said that with a lot of information and programs that can be obtained for new students, it is hoped that they will start preparing the definition of success in studying.
“With the information – program information obtained both from faculties, universities and outside the campus or ministry can be used and immediately started to determine the definition of success in quality, namely having to be able to graduate on time, graduate with coumlode value predicates, and graduate by getting many achievements – achievements contained in the diploma companion letter, so that in the future graduate students get a job easily, can become an entrepreneur, or can continue studies as desired,” said Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si.,

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Mardiyana M.Si. expressed her gratitude and welcomed students from outside the island into the independent student exchange program. “We once again express our gratitude to the Head of the Biology Education Study Program, Lecturers, Biology Education Student Association, all new students and we also welcome the students of the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program from Tadolako University, Medan State University, Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Makasar State University welcome to join FKIP UNS, and by the request of the committee, we declare that the Public Lecture on Biology Education FKIP UNS today is open,” added Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si.,

The next event was a public lecture with speakers Alysa Nur Chasanah A M. (IISMA), Aurora Halmahera (MSIB), and Ayu Kartika & Zazan Arindias (PKM-PIMNAS) and continued with the presentation of the curriculum by the Head of the Biology Education Study Program.
