FKIP – An Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta was held in a hybrid manner at Building F FKIP, Building G FKIP, and the Student Center Building, as well as online via the Semar TV youtube channel on Sunday (14/8/2022). On this occasion, Dr. Mardiyana, M. Si., introduce the profile of FKIP UNS.

Dr. Mardiyana started her presentation by phasing out the PTN-BH UNS 2020-2024 strategic plan.

“In carrying out activities, we must adjust the program according to the strategic plan from UNS. So, we inform you that since 2020 UNS has become a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH). So, UNS is the 12th PTN-BH which is directed at World Class University,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Next, Dr. Mardiyana conveyed the distribution of study programs at FKIP UNS, covering 25 undergraduate study programs, 17 master’s study programs, 5 doctoral study programs, and PPG (Teacher Professional Education) study programs.

Dr. Mardiyana continued with the presentation of the vision and mission of FKIP UNS.

“So we want to be a center for the development of science, technology, and art in the field of teaching and education with an international reputation but still based on national culture.

Dr. Mardiyana also explained the slogans of UNS and FKIP

“UNS’s slogan is BISA, an abbreviation of Cultured ACTIVE, Internationalization, Synergy, Acceleration. Then FKIP BAGUS is in line with the UNS slogan, Cultured, ACTIVE, Global, Superior, and Courteous,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana conveyed about clustering where in 2020-2021 UNS occupies the 11th position and the achievement of KPI (Key Performance Indicators) in 2021 occupies the 2nd position.

Then, Dr. Mardiyana discussed freedom of learning.

“Now this is related to preparing Excellent Human Resources in the Industrial Era 4.0 with independent learning,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Dr. Mardiyana mentioned 5 skills needed in the Industry 4.0 era, including creativity, critical thinking, communication skills, collaboration, and productivity. To hone these skills, students can take part in MBKM (Merdeka Belajar-Independent Campus) activities.

“So, younger siblings can study abroad at UNS which will be facilitated through MBKM. We are also working with SEAMEO SEAMOLEC which will facilitate younger siblings for teaching internships abroad,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

In the end, Dr. Mardiyana explained the system and learning process in higher education.
