This activity applies the knowledge gained in lectures in the fields of Chemistry Education and Science Education. Apfia as a Chemistry Education student and Azizah as a Science Education student explained that used cooking oil waste can be used as soap and aromatherapy candles.
“Rather than wasted cooking oil, it is better to turn it into useful items such as soap and aromatherapy candles because the manufacturing process for these two products is easy and fast. The enthusiasm of the PKK women in Mojo Village is very high, so we feel satisfied and happy,” explained the two.

Rudi, the head of group 11 KKN Mojo Village, explained that the program is one of the efforts to improve the entrepreneurial economy with cheap raw materials and is expected to be developed into Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the people of Mojo Village.
“It is hoped that from the demonstration of processing used cooking oil into soap and aromatherapy candles, PKK women can provide innovations to develop the potential of MSMEs with raw materials for household waste that are no longer used and can produce products that are worth selling,” explained Rudi.

The demonstration for processing used cooking oil was attended by PKK women from Mojo Village. Betty the head of PKK Inti Mojo Village said that this program was very helpful in awakening the business spirit of the demo participants.
“With this program, Mojo Village PKK women feel very helpful and motivated to do business. The program was also carried out well and smoothly because the KKN brothers had coordinated with me and were quick to respond in conveying the steps, “explained Betty.
In addition, Dr. Kartika, the field supervisor of Group 11 KKN UNS, also gave a positive response to the implementation of this activity.
“This program is very useful for PKK women in Mojo Village and it is hoped that from the kelurahan itself there will be sustainable activities also at the RW and RT levels. In addition, this program is also useful for KKN students because it can be used as a learning tool in guiding PKK women,” explained Kartika.
