FKIP – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta received a visit or benchmarking from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Cendrawasih University (UNCEN) from Jayapura, Papua to improve the quality of faculty by studying the quality assurance system and accreditation of the Study Program of the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK) at FKIP UNS.

The activity will last for three days starting Monday-Wednesday (26-28/9/2022) in the I courtroom of the Soemarno Building FKIP UNS.

The visiting group from FKIP Cendrawasih University (UNCEN) included Assistant Dean I, Secretary of the FKIP Quality Assurance Unit, Head of the Physics Education S1 Study Program, Head of the Chemistry Education S1 Study Program, Head of the Mathematics Education S1 Study Program, Head of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education S1 Study Program, Head of the English Language Education S1 Study Program, Head of the S1 Education Management Study Program, and Staff / Employees of FKIP UNCEN.

In addition, visits or benchmarking at FKIP UNS were also received directly by all Leaders of FKIP UNS consisting of the Dean, Ranks of Deputy Deans, Heads of Administration, Academic Sub-Coordinators, Non-Academic Sub-Coordinators, Heads of Mathematics Education Study Programs, Heads of Physics Education Study Programs, Heads of Chemistry Education Study Programs, Heads of English Language Education Study Programs, Heads of Office Administration Education Study Programs, and the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) and the Quality Assurance Team of FKIP UNS.

This activity took place in discussions or sharing sessions between FKIP UNS and FKIP UNCEN led directly by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si., as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs of FKIP UNS by discussing and studying the quality assurance system and accreditation of the LAMDIK study program.

Dr. Maridyana, M.Si., as the Dean of FKIP UNS in his speech, conveyed the information in FKIP UNS and several Study Programs (Prodi) that have been accredited as superior and internationally accredited.

“At FKIP UNS, there are 48 Study Programs in which there are 25 Undergraduate Study Programs, 17 Masters Study Programs, 5 Doctoral Study Programs and 1 Teacher Professional Education Study Program (ESP) in which there are 24 Fields of Study, of the many study programs at FKIP UNS there are Internationally accredited Study Programs, especially in undergraduate study programs, namely the internationally accredited Indonesian Education (FIBAA) study program, Internationally accredited Biology Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Chemistry Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Mechanical Engineering Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Extraordinary Education (AUN-QA), Internationally accredited Economic Education (FIBAA), and for others have been accredited Superior and Accredited A and in the process for applying for international accreditation where in 2023 it is expected that all undergraduate study programs can be already all internationally accredited,” added Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., on the occasion of the closing remarks added that at FKIP UNS itself there is a Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) of the Faculty and the Quality Control Group which has the task of preparing and being responsible for accreditation within the FKIP UNS.

“At FKIP UNS, there is a Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) at the faculty level and a Quality Control Group (QCG), in each study program that is in charge and responsible for preparing all forms of needs or instruments needed in every accreditation, both international accreditation and national accreditation with the help of an accreditation preparation team by the study program, and for the level of university quality assurance at UNS there is AN LPPM”, added Dr. Mardiyana.M.Si.

Assistant Dean of FKIP UNCEN, Dr. C. Tanta, M.Si., in his speech conveyed that the purpose and purpose of coming to FKIP UNS were to gain knowledge to improve quality assurance and accreditation.

“Our arrival or visit to FKIP UNS to gain knowledge in the context of efforts to improve the quality of FKIP UNCEN related to quality assurance and accreditation – accreditation, especially LAMDIK accreditation. So we ask for permission to be able to discuss more deeply each study program and quality assurance unit at FKIP UNS to find out and understand how quality assurance and accreditation preparation are carried out at FKIP UNS that we can run at FKIP UNCEN,” said Dr. C. Tanta.

The event continued with discussions by the Faculty-level Quality Assurance Unit, quality control groups at the study program level, and continued discussions by each study program.
