FKIP – Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program (PG-PAUD) Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Guest Lecture Workshop online via Zoom Meeting and broadcast live via youtube channel PG-PAUD FKIP Universitas Sebelas Maret on Sunday (17/7/2022).

The activity was held with the theme “Strategies for Preparing Human Resources in the Education Sector Facing the Digital Era”. In this activity, Dr. Anyanti Rahmawati, S.Psi., Psi., M.A., as the Head of the PG-PAUD Study Program (Kaprodi) delivered her remarks.

“This guest lecture is held with the aim of providing additional scientific insight for all of us in dealing with and preparing superior educational human resources in the future,” said Dr. Anyanti in her speech.

The activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS.

“On this occasion, it arouses shared thoughts that the keyword human resources is an important keyword for advanced Indonesia and in PG-PAUD the theme chosen is appropriate. If we understand that the power later in governance for the utilization of existing resources is human resources, “said Prof. Slamet.

The moderator at this event was Anjar Fitrianingtyas, S.Pd., M.Pd., as a lecturer at PG-PAUD FKIP UNS. The first resource person was Cecep Somantri, M.A., Ph.D., as one of the senior staff at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. In his presentation, Cecep delivered material entitled “PAUD: Pandemic, Digital Society, and Educational Leadership”.

“There is a global orthodoxy that assumes that investment in education is a key factor that can determine a country’s ability to determine its own destiny in a globalized world,” Cecep explained about the context.

Cecep explained about the condition of global education and the condition of Indonesian education, as well as the implications of global and national education statistics.

“Indonesia is reported to have met the Education For All (EU) target and the MDG’s for basic education and literacy education,” explained Cecep.

Then, Cecep discussed Indonesia’s digital society before and after the pandemic by addressing four issues, as well as discussing educational leadership.

The second resource person, Dr. Jhoni Warmansyah, M.Pd., as the Head of the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program (PIAUD) State Islamic University Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. Dr. Jhoni explained the material entitled “The Importance of Quality Education for Increasing Reliable Human Resources in the Digital Age”.

“Teachers’ initial capital in the digital era is about the pygmalion effect whose concept is self-fulfilling prophecy. The concept is about how the beliefs of the teacher will affect the beliefs of others. The beliefs of others will influence the behavior of himself and others in the future,” explained Dr. Jhoni.

Next, Dr. Jhoni discussed about job prospects in the future.

“The impact in the field of education is that education today must be HOTS-based,” he explained.

The activity ended with a question and answer session with two speakers.
