FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta receives benchmarking from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Tanjungpura University (UNTAN) Pontianak in the Study Program Biology Education in the courtroom of the Soemarno Building FKIP UNS on (17/10/2022). The activity will last for 7 days (17-24/10/2022) and aims to find out the preparation for ASIIN International Accreditation (Accreditation in Engineering Computer Sciences Natural Sciences Mathematics) which has been carried out by Biology Education FKIP UNS.

The benchmarking was followed by the ASIIN International Accreditation team from FKIP UNTAN and was received directly by the Dean of FKIP UNS, the Deputy Deans, the Administrative Leaders, the Head of the Biology Education Study Program, Quality Assurance, the Quality Control Group, the International Unit, and the relevant UNS FKIP Lecturers in ASIIN international accreditation.

Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., as the Dean of FKIP UNS in his speech, conveyed information about FKIP UNS and several Study Programs (Prodi) that have been accredited superior and internationally accredited.

“FKIP UNS has 48 study programs, consisting of 5 (five) Doctoral study programs, 17 Masters study programs, 25 S1 or Bachelor study programs, and 1 (one) Teacher Professional Education Study Program (PPG) by accommodating 24 fields of study. Of the many study programs at FKIP UNS, there are internationally accredited study programs, especially in undergraduate study programs, namely the internationally accredited Indonesian Language Education study program (FIBAA), Internationally accredited Biology Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Chemical Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Mechanical Engineering Education (ASIIN), Internationally accredited Special Education (AUNQA), Internationally accredited Economic Education (FIBAA). For the others, some have been accredited with excellence and are currently in the process of applying for international accreditation and submissions for superior accreditation.
Even at the end of last month we also carried out LAMDIK accreditation in a sequence of 4 study programs. In 2023, it is hoped that all undergraduate study programs can be accredited with excellence and all internationally accredited”, explained Dr. Mardiyana.

Next Dr. Mardiyana on the occasion of closing his remarks added information related to ASIIN accreditation which was focused on facilities and infrastructure, especially on laboratory facilities and equipment. In preparing for accreditation, at FKIP UNS there is also a Faculty Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) and a Quality Control Group at the study program level, all of which have the task of preparing and being responsible for accreditation within the UNS FKIP environment.

“At the time of the ASIIN Accreditation yesterday, we tended to have problems with facilities and infrastructure, especially tools and facilities, especially in the Biology Education laboratory, as well as at FKIP UNS in terms of preparation and readiness for accreditation, there is a Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) for the faculty and Cluster level. Quality Control (GKM) at the study program level, all of which are tasked and responsible for preparing all forms of needs or instruments that must be prepared in every accreditation, both international accreditation, and national accreditation. In its implementation, it is assisted by the study program accreditation preparation team, while for quality assurance at the university level there is the LPPMP (Sebelas Maret University Development and Quality Assurance Institute),” added Dr. Mardiyana.

Dr. Afandi, M.Pd., as the International Accreditation Team ASIIN also as the Head of the Biology Education Study Program FKIP UNTAN said that the purpose of coming to FKIP UNS was to find out how to prepare for ASIIN International Accreditation. I ask for permission to know and share how to prepare and prepare for ASIIN international accreditation”, said Dr. Afandi.

The next activity was a sharing session regarding the steps and preparation for ASIIN accreditation which was led directly by the Head of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNS Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si.
