FKIP – Student Affairs Unit for Academic, Research and Faculty Student Affairs Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta Teacher Training and Education Sciences (FKIP) held a workshop titled “Student Creativity Program Proposal Preparation Workshop (PKM)” on Saturday (12/11/2022). The workshop was held online through the Zoom Meeting application.
This activity was opened directly by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS. In his remarks, Prof. Slamet said that this workshop was an effort to foster the preparation of PKM for FKIP UNS students.
“This activity is one of the efforts we have made to guide the preparation of PKM, especially for FKIP UNS students. Of course, this process requires a hard struggle and requires serious effort. In addition, students also need accuracy both from a technical and technical point of view and its contents. Hopefully, this activity will provide an overview to students and supervisors in preparing their strategies,” explained Prof. congratulations.
This workshop was guided by a moderator from the FKIP UNS Student Unit Team, Chandra Adi Prabowo, S.Pd., M.Pd., and presented as a guest speaker. The resource persons were Suherman, S.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. He is the Head of the Student Creativity and Reasoning Sub-Directorate of the Directorate of Student Affairs, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta.

In his presentation, Suherman presented material entitled Preparation for PKM-Pimnas 2023. He started his material by explaining the Gempita of the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) starting from the 2018 Pimnas at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), the 2019 Pimnas at Udayana University Bali, the 2020 Pimnas at UGM Yogyakarta, Pimnas 2021 at the University of North Sumatra (USU), to Pimnas 2022 at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). He said that winning a Pimnas ticket was not an easy thing.
“Based on experience at the previous Pimnas, an average of tens of thousands of PKM proposals submitted by students who were declared to have passed Pimnas was only 1%. That is, it is not easy to win this Pimnas chair. Pimnas is also not an easy job because you have to work for one year. Therefore, it is indeed appropriate if there are many awards or appreciation from the campus for students who win this Pimnas medal,” said Suherman.
Next, he explained material regarding the PKM 2022 funding map, the PKM field, the philosophy of the road to National Pimnas, the ban on funding in PKM 2022, things that must be understood before preparing a PKM proposal, the systematics of PKM proposals, the strategy for preparing PKM proposals, to examples of proposal titles that passed funding in 2022.

At the end of his presentation, he shared tips on finding ideas for submitting PKM proposals. He expressed it in 5 steps.
“Then, how do you come up with PKM ideas? There are steps you can apply, which as looking for proposals that have been funded in previous years. Then think creatively to find new approaches or breakthroughs to deal with certain situations or problems. After that, ask for input from related parties and increase sensitivity in seeing phenomena around. Finally, ATM observes, imitates, and modifies,” said Suherman.
After the presentation of the material was over, the workshop continued with a question-and-answer discussion session guided by the moderator. The workshop closed with a joint documentation session.
