FKIP — Study Program (Prodi) Masters (S-2) Learning Technology (TP) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the S-2 TP Study Program, Tanjung Pura University (UNTAN) Pontianak held a National Seminar on Learning in the Digital Age on Tuesday (29/11/2022). This activity was carried out online through the Zoom Meeting application and offline in the Hall of Building G FKIP UNS 3rd floor. This activity coincided with the signing of the collaboration between the two study programs.

This national seminar was opened directly by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. In his remarks, he said that FKIP UNS and UNTAN Pontianak had a very good working relationship. He hopes that this collaboration will have a positive impact on the education climate in Indonesia.

This national seminar presented four speakers. The first resource person was Fakhrudin Sujarwo. He is a student of the TP FKIP UNS S-2 Study Program. He presented material entitled “The Art of Teaching in the Style of Ambassadors of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Learning Center: An Experience and Practice of Learning in the Digital Age”. In this material he provides an overview of the teaching process which consists of four elements, namely learning, teaching, creating, and sharing. At the beginning of his presentation, he said that learning must be adapted to the times.

“Technology is constantly evolving. Likewise with science. For that educate children in accordance with the times. How is the implementation of technology in learning? First, at the planning stage use the LMS for the hybrid learning model. Then, at the implementation stage, establish a good emotional relationship with students. At the assessment stage, use electronic-based assessments to measure the achievement of learning outcomes,” said Fakhrudin.

The second resource person is Wahyu Pratama Putra. He is a student of the TP FKIP UNS S-2 Study Program. In his presentation, he presented material entitled “Smart Education as the Future of Education”. layer of educational technology, to the target of education in the future. He said that the essence of smart education, is to create a smart learning environment using technology.

“Smart education, facilitates digital-based learning processes in acquiring 21st century skills. Well, the essence of smart education, is to create a smart learning environment using technology so that the pedagogical process can be digital-based and facilitate personalized learning services,” said Pratama .

The third resource person is Egy Adi. He is a TP FKIP UNTAN Pontianak Masters Program Student. In his presentation, he brought material entitled “Digital Literacy for Teacher”. In this material, he explained the identification of teacher digital literacy, digital literacy framework, identification of empirical gaps regarding equal distribution of digital literacy, equal distribution of teacher digital literacy in West Kalimantan and Pontianak to the benefits of implementing this national seminar.

“Implementing this seminar will certainly provide benefits for TP people. These benefits include recruiting qualified TEP personnel from each university who contribute to national development through concrete dedication to empowering digital technology to achieve effective learning. Apart from that, it can also create dynamic and progressive Indonesian human resources through the empowerment of digital technology in the world of education in order to increase competitiveness on an international scale, “explained Egy.

Meanwhile, the last resource person at this national seminar was Suliono who is also a student of the S-2 TP FKIP UNTAN Pontianak Study Program. He brought material entitled “Learning in the Digital Age”. In his presentation, he explained about the gamification of students’ micro and macro skills in terms of using Quizizz. He revealed that there are 6 aspects in gamification.

“Gamification is the application of aspects of games into non-game contexts, in this case learning content. In gamification there are six aspects that must be considered so that it can be applied to students. The first aspect of games is used as learning. The next aspect is providing challenges, providing rewards, involving students, increasing learning motivation, and influencing student achievement,” said Suliono.

After the presentation of the material by each speaker, the event continued with a question and answer session. In addition to the national seminar and the signing of the collaboration, the Masters Program in TP FKIP UNS and Masters in TP FKIP UNTAN Pontianak also carried out friendly activities for the lecturers’ council which contained presentations on the facilities, curriculum, and learning innovations of each study program.
