FKIP – The Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Reflection Workshop on Proposed Promotional Promotions for Professor Functional Positions (Jabfung) on Thursday (29/29/2019) 12/2022). The workshop was held offline at UNS Inn Surakarta and online through the Zoom Meeting application.

The activity was opened directly by Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. as Dean of FKIP UNS. In his remarks, he said that FKIP UNS is committed to supporting the acceleration of all lecturers meeting doctoral qualifications and increasing the percentage of professors by 15-20%.

“The end of this year is the right time for us to carry out reflections related to plans in our stages to improve the quality of human resources. Based on the evaluation that has been carried out, 53% of our human resources have doctoral degrees and we also continue to be committed so that all lecturers meet doctoral qualifications. However, professorships in FKIP UNS are still around 8% and head professors are still 22%. In the future, we have a target for professors at FKIP UNS to meet the quota of 15-20%,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Moderated by Dr. Sarwanto, S.Pd., M.Sc., this workshop presented 3 speakers. The first resource person was Prof. Sulistyo Saputro, M.Si., Ph.D. as the National Credit Score Assessment Team (PAK). He presented material entitled “Strategy for the Acceleration of Proposed Professorial Functional Positions”. In this material, he introduced an acceleration strategy which he named the MANTAP Strategy.

“For the discussion to be easy to accept, the strategy for accelerating proposed functional positions for professors that we will discuss this morning is called the MANTAP Strategy. This MANTAP strategy stands for setting intentions, organizing documents, not being cramped, not being too similar, actively asking questions, and surrendering. The hope is that this strange abbreviation will be easy to remember,” said Prof. Sulistyo.

The second resource person is Prof. Dr. Mulyanto, M.Pd. He is part of the UNS PAK team. In his presentation, he presented material entitled “Reflections on the Acceleration of Proposals for Professor Position Promotion: Overview of Fields A, B, and C”.

In this material, he explained the details of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, starting from the implementation of education and its limits of appropriateness, writing, and indicators for evaluating scientific work, to the implementation of research and its limits of appropriateness. He began his presentation by advising the field A component.

“For the component in field A or education, what is uploaded is a Doctoral or S-3 education certificate and it is best to upload a photo of the original certificate. Uploaded files should not be too heavy, easy to open, and legible. Proof of certificates that are recognized are certificates issued by tertiary institutions or domestic study programs that are accredited at least B,” suggested Prof. Mulyanto.

Meanwhile, the third resource person was Dr. Sumarwati, M.Pd. as the FKIP UNS PAK Team. He presented material entitled “Notes on the Performance Assessment of D & E Components (Services and Support)”. In this material, he explained the credit scores for community service activities, examples of filling in-service performance, notes on the results of the service component assessment, notes on community service performance, and credit scores for supporting activities.

“There are 3 results in the study, namely approval, correction, or rejection. The research results are approved if the activity categories, scores, and evidence of performance are appropriate. The research results were corrected, meaning that the activity categories, scores, and evidence of performance did not match. For example, what should be national is categorized as local or vice versa. Besides that, the input volume is 0. The results of the study are rejected if the performance category does not include component D and the input performance is multiple,” explained Dr. Sumarwati.

After the presentation of the material, the activity continued with a question-and-answer discussion session and ended with a joint documentation session.
