FKIP — Students of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta have made another achievement at the national level. He is Imam Budi Nugroho. This student of the Javanese Language Education Study Program (PBJ) FKIP UNS won 2nd place in the Muharam Festival Photography Competition (Muhfest) 2.0.

The Muhfest 2.0 competition was organized by the Islamic Bina Forum (FBI) Fateta, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This competition is open to all active students throughout Indonesia. Carrying the theme “A New Journey to be a Better Self”, the competition was divided into two categories. The two categories are the Photography Competition and the Poetry Writing Competition.

Contacted by the fkip.uns.ac.id journalist team, Imam expressed his pleasure and gratitude for this achievement. He also revealed that the results of this achievement will be used as motivation and benchmarks to take part in other competitions.

“I feel happy and grateful for the results I got. Of course this result means a lot to me. I will use this result as a motivation and benchmark to take part in other competitions in the future,” said Imam, Wednesday (11/1/2023).

In this photography competition which was held last September, Imam brought up a photo entitled “Help Cats”. He said that the photo shows a form of kindness, namely concern for fellow living beings.

“There are two cats that were thrown away by their owners. Then, the cat came into my house and I took the initiative to feed it even though it was only rice and anchovies because I thought the cat must be hungry. From that incident, I immediately took a picture while the cat was eating because this is one of the behaviors towards goodness in the form of our concern for fellow living things in accordance with the theme of the competition,” said Imam.

At the end of the interview session, Imam invited the students to hone their competencies and talents by participating in activities or competitions according to their interests and talents. He also shared how to get information on these activities or competitions.

“I like photography, so I am interested in this photography contest. So, hone your competencies and talents. Participate in activities or competitions that suit our interests and talents so that we can explore what potential we have. Look for information on activities or competitions via Instagram hashtags, for example #infolomba. If you can, pay attention to the theme. If interested, read the prerequisites and follow them,” said Imam.
