FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Socialization of Academic Policy and Public Lecture for Postgraduate Students in 2023 on Wednesday (22/2/2023). The socialization was held through the Zoom Meeting application.

Guided by Dewi Kartika, M.Sc., the socialization began with submitting an activity report by the Coordinator of the Administrative Section of FKIP UNS, Yunanto, S.T., M.Sc. Then, it was opened by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. represented by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS.

In his remarks, he welcomed the 2023 FKIP UNS Postgraduate New Students. He advised students always to be based on knowledge, literacy culture, and data.

“Welcome to join the scientific and academic community of FKIP UNS. You entered the Pancasila Fort Campus, Green Campus, and Inclusive Campus. You are a scientific and academic community, so you must always be based on knowledge and have a culture of literacy. Of course, because you have entered the Masters and Doctoral levels, you must always be based on data as a reflection of selection of facts and images of reality to answer problems in the world of education,” said Prof. Slamet.

After delivering the remarks, the socialization continued with the introduction of faculty leaders, heads of study programs, and study program administrative staff. The introduction was given by the FKIP UNS Non-Academic Sub-Coordinator, Luhur Sukamto, S.H. After that, the socialization was followed by an explanation of academic policies by Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. and technical description of academic services and PDDIKTI by Yosafat Christiantono, S.Kom.

Then, the socialization continued with the presentation of a public lecture with the theme “Acceleration of Timely Studies Based on Literacy, Research, and Data Culture for Postgraduate Students of FKIP UNS in 2023”. Moderated by Dr. Dewi Kusuma Wardani, M.Sc. as Deputy Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics, the public lecture presented a resource person. The resource person is Prof. Dr. Drs. Maman Suryaman, M.Pd., a Professor of Education at Yogyakarta State University (UNY).

He presented material entitled “Acceleration of Timely Studies Based on Literacy Culture, Research, and Data” in his presentation. In this material, he explained the pattern of education 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0. and 5.0. He also explained the face of current world economic activity, the phenomenon of reading for young Indonesians, the keywords working ability and mastery of knowledge, lecture time for postgraduate students, the design of lecture assignments, to the distribution of tasks for postgraduate students.

“At the master level, the level of mastery of knowledge is mastering theory and application theory in specific fields of expertise and the keywords for the level of workability are developing science and technology through inter- and multidisciplinary research, innovation, and testing. As for the doctoral level, the level of mastery of knowledge is mastering scientific philosophy in specific fields of knowledge and skills and the keyword level of workability is to deepen and expand science and technology and research, “explained Prof. Maman.

After the presentation of the material, the socialization was followed by a question and answer session. Then proceed with a prayer led by Dr. Mohammad Muchtarom, S.Ag., M.Sc. and ends with a documentation session.
