FKIP – Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program (PG PAUD) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Socialization on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence on Tuesday (21/2/2023). The socialization was held offline in the Old Hall of Campus IV FKIP UNS, Kleco, Surakarta.

Guided by Erlina Nur and Salsabila Yudi who are PG PAUD FKIP UNS Study Program students, this socialization presented 2 speakers. The two speakers were Santi Noor Pratiwi and Bianca Bunga Saputra. Both are members of the UNS Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force Team.

In this socialization, the two speakers jointly presented materials on preventing and handling sexual violence. The presentation of the material began by introducing the UNS Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force. The two of them took turns providing an overview of the background to the formation, goals, and profiles of members of the UNS Task Force on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence.

“The Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence is part of a higher education institution that functions as a center for preventing and handling sexual violence in every tertiary institution, including at UNS. The UNS Task Force on Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence was formed on September 9, 2022 and had a work office on the 2nd Floor of the UNS Rectorate Building,” explained Santi.

Furthermore, both of them also presented material regarding introducing forms of sexual violence to its prevention and handling. They explained material regarding definitions, types and shapes, prevention of sexual violence, sexual prevention at UNS, victims’ rights, to the flow of reporting sexual violence.

“Prevention of sexual violence in UNS is carried out in several ways, namely the formation of the UNS Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force, socialization on prevention and handling of sexual violence regularly, opening services and complaints of sexual violence, outreach to sexual violence complaint services, and making guidelines and information media as well as sexual violence prevention education,” explained Bianca.

After the presentation of the material, the socialization was followed by a question and answer session. Finally, the Socialization of Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in PG PAUD FKIP UNS Study Program ended with a documentation session.
