FKIP – Coordinator of Research and Community Service Faculty (KPPMF) of the Teacher Education and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a webinar on Friday (3/3/2023) with the theme “Writing Simple Manuscripts for Publication of Index Scopus Journal Paid and Unvulnerable to Discontinuous “. The webinar was held online through the Zoom Meeting application.
Moderated by Hilda Rakerda, the KPPMF FKIP UNS webinar presents a resource person. The resource person is Prof. Handoyo Puji Widodo. He is a Professor at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Handoyo explained the material titled “Practical Instructions for Writing Simple Manuscripts for Publication of Journal Indexed Scopus Q1-Q3 Not Paid”. In the material, he explained the writing ethos for scientific publications as learning, how to visit the target journal, the types of Scopus-indexed journals, and the motivation to accept manuscripts for international publications.
Furthermore, he also explained how to see the reputation of journals, the types of manuscripts for the publication of scientific journals, and how to consider in writing manuscripts. According to him, 5 important points must be considered in visiting journals.
“How to be smart in visiting the target journal? Smart in visiting the target journal is look at the quality of journals or see the ranking and reputation based on metrics, the quality of the articles published, the quality of the review process, the expertise of the editor and the Besari partner, as well as the external assessor’s expertise,” said Prof. Handoyo.
Furthermore, he also explained the types of manuscripts for publication of scientific journals. He argues that there are 11 types of manuscripts for scientific publications.
“There are 11 types of manuscripts for scientific publications, namely Original Research Paper, Textual Research Paper, Position/Review/Conceptual Paper, Meta-Analysis/Systematic/Scoping Review Paper, Short Communication/Brief/Research Notes/In-Progress Paper, Best Practice, Best Practice /Classroom/Pedagogical/Innovative Practice/Teaching Tip Paper, Visual Essay, Poetry/Interview-With-Expert Paper, Commentay/Readers’ Respond Paper, Letter to Editor Paper, and Book Review Paper,” explained Prof. Handoyo.
After the presentation of the material, the webinar continued with a question session guided by the moderator and ended with a documentation session.
