FKIP – Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Graduation Ceremony for PPG Students in the Service Batch of 2022 on Tuesday (1/3/2023). The release was held offline in the Hall of Building F FKIP UNS, online via the Zoom Meeting application, and broadcast live via the Semar TV Youtube account.

The activity began with a report from the Head of the PPG FKIP UNS Study Program, Dr. A.G. Tamrin, M.Pd., M.Sc., In his statement, he said that FKIP UNS graduated 759 PPG students from the category I scheme, 1,060 from the category II scheme, and 84 students from Ex PLPG.

“Today, we will carry out the graduation and oath-taking of the teaching profession for new teachers. Even though these graduates have carried out their duties in the teaching profession, from a de jure perspective, they are invalid because an educator certificate has not proven them. We need to say that the percentage of PPG Daljab passing at UNS ranks in the top 5 nationally. PPG Daljab Category I presentation 83%, Category II presentation 90%, and Ex PLPG 28%. This is a proud achievement for UNS,” said Dr. Thamrin.

The activity continued with the reading of the Chancellor’s Decree regarding the Determination of PPG Students in the Service Batch of 2022. Mila Purani Sistiyan, S.E., M.M. as FKIP UNS Academic Sub-Coordinator, carried out the reading. Then, the activity continued with taking the teacher’s professional oath by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. and followed by graduates.

After the oath was completed, the activity continued with reading the names and taking the graduates’ certificates. Then the PPG students were inaugurated and released by UNS Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S.

In his remarks, he congratulated and succeeded the graduates of PPG Students in the Service Batch of 2022. He hoped that these new teachers could participate in and implement the information and technology transformation era in learning.

“We, on behalf of the Leadership of Sebelas Maret University, congratulated and succeeded PPG students graduates in the Service Batch of 2022 category I, category II, and EX PLPG. With this graduation, you legally have a certificate as a competent professional teacher educator in your field and in accordance with the educational standards set by the government. Entering the era of information and technology transformation, we hope that teachers can follow its developments and implement them in learning,” said Prof. Yunus.

On this occasion, Temu Ismail, S.Pd., M.Sc., the Director of PPG of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research, Technology, and Higher Education, was also present and gave a scientific oration. He said that UNS was very helpful in improving teacher competence.

“Sebelas Maret University has been very helpful in improving teacher competence through teacher certification with various models, both direct portfolio giving, PLPG, until now it is teacher professional education,” said Temu Ismail in his oration.
