FKIP – To implement a leadership project, Pre-service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Students Batch 1 of 2022 Special Education Study Program (PLB) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held “Training on the Use of The Canva Application to Improve Teacher Competence in the Digital Age” on Wednesday (15/3/2023) at the Cangakan State Special School, Karanganyar.

This training was carried out by PPG Pre-service Batch 1 student in 2022, consisting of 9 students with supervisor Drs. Hermawan, M.Sc. Imam Lutfi, S.Pd.., as chairman led 8 members, namely Firda Nur Oktaviani, S.Pd., Galang Perdana, S.Pd., Hanik Rachma Oktavia Saputri, S.Pd., Rizka Amala, S.Pd. , Indah Jihan Andini, S.Pd., Dewi Laras Ati, S.Pd., Sri Hartati, S.Pd., and Fadela Pratiwi Hardiyanti S.Pd.

The background to the implementation of this activity is the important role of technology that can support learning to be more effective, efficient, and improve the quality of learning, as well as adapting it to the needs of students in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.

Imam Lutfi as chairman said that this training was held with the aim of accommodating the needs of teachers, especially teachers of children with special needs, in facing the challenges of the digital world.

“Challenges faced by teachers regarding the use of technology can be overcome in various ways, one of which is training or workshops. The aim of this Leadership Project is to accommodate the needs of teachers in the digital world. We will realize it in a project entitled Using the Canva Application to Improve Teacher Competence in the Digital Age,” he explained.

For teachers, using technology as a learning medium in the 21st century is very beneficial because today’s students are very close to technology. Besides being used in the world of learning, Canva media can also be used in the realm of administration and school activities.

This training received a good response from the school, which the Principal of the Cangakan Karanganyar SLBN School delivered. This activity was attended by 20 teachers at the Cangakan Karanganyar State SLB.
