FKIP – Students of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta who are Central Java Language Ambassador 2023 finalists collaborate with the Nusantara Children’s Smile Community (SAN) in carrying out activities to implement Linguistic Credentials as well as introducing the web they initiated to increase literacy and knowledge about folklore, namely the “Si Ceria” website on Sunday (21/5/2023) at Rusunawa Jurug, Surakarta. She is Dwiana Nur Rizki Hanifah from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI).
The implementation of the ‘Si Ceria’ Krida was attended by 32 children aged 7-12 years. In this activity, Dwiana as a finalist for the Central Java Language Ambassador, introduced the web ‘Si Ceria’ to children to read folklore on the web. SHe also presented a picture stacking game based on a story on the website ‘Si Ceria.’ Meanwhile, the SAN Community provides socialization regarding introducing the SAN community and the program, which will be delivered every week at the Jurug Rusunawa, Surakarta.
The Krida “Si Ceria” implementation activity received a positive response from the Coordinator of the Rusunawa Jurug, Surakarta, Andre.
“We on behalf of the people of Rusunawa Jurug are very happy with the implementation of this activity. Thank you for the knowledge that has been given to children. Of course, the knowledge given is really needed by the children here. Hopefully, the children will be happier reading stories in the future, “said Andre.
Previously, Dwiana also conducted a trial implementation of these Language Skills at SD Negeri 1 Karangkemojing, Banyumas Regency. He chose the school because there is relevance between the use of the “Si Ceria” website and the learning outcomes of phase B in class IV, namely reading and viewing materials that require learning media about folklore.
Dwiana hopes that her activities can contribute to increasing literacy in Indonesia. She also hopes to develop the “Si Ceria” website to become a reference that can be used as a learning medium and a medium for preserving folklore in Indonesia which is rich in national ancestral values.
“I am very happy to see children enthusiastic about reading stories on their respective gadgets. They are also very happy to play stacking pictures together with their peers. I hope this Krida can help in increasing literacy and knowledge about folklore. More than that, I also hope that this Krida can become a reference for learning media and preserving folklore in Indonesia,” Dwiana hoped.
