FKIP – Friday (28/7/2023), the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta again held an international conference entitled International Conference on Learning Innovation and Quality Education (ICLIQE) 2023. This conference was held offline in the UNS Tower Ki Hadjar Dewantara and online through the Zoom Meeting application and broadcast live on the Semar TV Youtube account.

In 2023, ICIQLE entered its 7th year of implementation. The purpose of the ICLIQE 2023 activity is to serve as a forum to accommodate researchers, academics, educators and education staff, consultants, government, and other stakeholders to share perspectives regarding educational trends seen from the perspective of the era of society 5.0, which includes the fields of science and technology education, social and humanities, management education, primary education, special education, early childhood education, guidance and counseling, curriculum, and educational evaluation and innovation.

In his remarks, Dr. Eka Budi Santosa, M.Pd. as Chief Executive of ICIQLE 2023, explained the impact of the current Big Data Era. He also presented a report regarding the implementation of ICIQLE 2023 activities.

“As we all know, apart from impacting the business, industrial, and social sectors, the Big Data Era also impacts the education sector. Innovation in the education sector in the current Big Data Era is urgently needed. The development of artificial intelligence is a challenge in the current learning process. In this regard, 1050 papers will be presented in the panel session of this conference. We thank you for the enthusiasm and participation of all parties involved in this conference. We believe your contribution will positively impact the learning innovation process,” explained Dr. Eka.

Then, the conference was opened by Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. He is Plt. UNS Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation, Business and Information. In his remarks, he expressed the suitability of the goals in this conference with the IKU achievement program compiled by UNS.

“We thank you for the participation of all participants and speakers in this conference. We believe this will positively impact the learning development and innovation process. This conference is by the UNS program in achieving IKU, which is the result of work that benefits the community with international conference topics that are carried out on appropriate topics and have been held regularly,” said Prof. Irwan.

After the welcoming session, the activity continued with the presentation of the material. The presentation of the material at this conference was divided into 2 sessions. The first session was moderated by Ruli Hafidah S.Pd., M.Hum. as a Lecturer in PG PAUD Study Program, FKIP UNS. There were 2 speakers in the first session, namely Dr. Praptono, M.Ed. as the Director of Professional Education and Development of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Prof. Dr. Mohd Mahzan Awang as Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Surya Agung Wijaya, M.Pd, moderated the second session. There were 3 speakers who presented the material in this second session. The three sources are Dominic Mahon, Ph.D., FHEA as a Lecturer at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom (UK); Dr. Kritsachai Somsaman as Director of the SEAMEO Regional Center for STEM Education, Thailand; and Dr. Wahyudi, M.Ed. as Director of SEAMEOLEC Jakarta, Indonesia.
