FKIP – Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program (P.T.M.) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, through the KOMPRESI Student Association, held a Safety Riding Seminar in collaboration with Astra Honda Motor Central Java on Thursday (14/9/2023). This seminar was held offline on campus V JPTK FKIP UNS and was open to all students and the general public.
This year’s Saftey Riding Seminar raised the theme “Proud to be the Safe Search Generation”. This theme was raised because driving safety is important in community mobility. Traffic accidents often result in major losses, such as loss of life, serious physical injuries, and property damage. Therefore, the younger generation needs to increase the importance of safety when driving.
This event began with remarks by the Deputy Dean for Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information, FKIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Triyanto, S.H., M.Hum. This was followed by signing an M.O.U. on cooperation with Astra Honda Motor Central Java. After this series, the event continued with the presentation of the material.

A.K.P. Yuna Ahadiyah carried out the first material presentation. He is the Head of Unit I Sub-Directorate Traffic Directorate of Central Java Regional Police. He explained material regarding traffic ethics and road safety. He explained the importance of understanding and implementing traffic ethics in this material.
“Without traffic ethics, perhaps we cannot imagine that accidents would often occur on the highway. This incident was caused by a lack of tolerance between road users, and drivers tend to be selfish in wanting to get there quickly. If this is allowed to continue, the number of accidents will continue to increase. “Therefore, it is necessary to understand and implement traffic ethics,” explained A.K.P. Yuna.
After the presentation of the first material was complete, it was continued with the second speaker by Oke Desiyanto, S.T. who is an Analyst and Senior SPV Safety Riding Astra Honda Motor Central Java. In his presentation of the material, he explained that driving behavior is necessary to avoid accidents. Bad behavior can increase the risk of accidents. Therefore, a good understanding of driving behavior is needed, one of which is by taking safety riding training.
The third material presentation was by Bagus Tri Maistiyanto, ST., AAAI-K., AWP., Q.W.P. as Head of PT Jasa Raharja Surakarta Branch Representative. He explained the factors causing accidents: human factors, infrastructure, officer negligence, and vehicle maintenance. Furthermore, he also explained the role of Jasa Raharja in protecting accident victims.
“Jasa Raharja has an important role in motor vehicle taxes, namely collecting Mandatory Contributions to the Road Traffic Accident Fund or SWDKLLJ. “SWDKLLJ is the state’s effort to provide basic protection to the community, especially victims of accidents caused by vehicles or hit by vehicles,” explained Bagus.
Holding this seminar is hoped that a reduction in the number of traffic accidents and increased awareness of driving safety among the public can be achieved. The collaboration between A.H.M. and Jasa Raharja is also a positive step in efforts to create a safer and more accident-responsive driving environment.
