FKIP – Students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) Kebumen Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta won the national essay competition.
The student named Mutiara An Nisaa’ who won 2nd place in the 2021 UNS Accounting Education Olympiad (OPA) which was announced on Sunday (26/9/2021).
This activity was organized by the Student Association of the Accounting Education Study Program (Himapaksi) FKIP UNS. This competition activity includes several series, such as registration, submission of works, announcement of the top six finalists, presentation of the finalists, and announcement of the championship.
Mutia chose the theme “Freedom of Learning as the Implementation of the Educational Revolution” as the theme of her essay. With this theme, Mutiara wrote an essay entitled “JASBOOK (Java Sound Book): Sound Book Interactive Learning Media Innovation to Improve Ability in Javanese Language in Class V Elementary School Students to Realize Independent Learning as an Educational Revolution”.
Mutiara explained that the reason for choosing the title was because the younger generation experienced problems in mastering the Javanese language and the perception of Javanese as an ancient language.
“The idea was motivated by the ability of the Javanese language for the younger generation which is felt to be decreasing, accompanied by the assumption that the Javanese language symbolizes an ancient language,” explained Mutiara.
Mutiara added that the way to overcome these problems is through education, especially the development of the idea of JASBOOK as a medium for teaching Javanese.
“The need for innovation in learning with the use of various media. The innovation offered for this problem is Jasbook. Jasbook is an interactive book based on audio and visual media as an option in the use of learning media. This interactive book is designed for 5th grade elementary school to help teachers carry out learning, as well as helping students to understand information about the use of Javanese language uploads in everyday life,” continued Mutiara.
Mutiara hopes that Jasbook will be able to become a facilitator who can provide comfort in learning for teachers and students.
“Hopefully from this idea, hopefully it can be realized and realized so that it provides broad benefits, especially in supporting Merdeka Learning as an educational revolution in elementary schools,” Mutiara continued.
In the future, she wants to continue working to provide benefits.
“In the future, I want to continue to work either through essays or other competitions in order to spread broad benefits, especially in improving the quality of education in Indonesia,” said Mutiara.
