FKIP – Students of the Special Education Study Program (PKh) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta on behalf of Ni Made Arianti Putri managed to win a gold medal at the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) 2021. He got the medal from the Athletics (Cabor) for the 400-meter running number for the T13 class for the visually impaired.

This medal was the first gold medal for the Island of the Dewata contingent on the first day of the Peparnas XVI Papua match at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Saturday (6/11/2021). Arianti succeeded in eliminating athletes from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who had to settle for a silver medal and Jambi athletes who won bronze medals.

Arianti did not think that she had achieved this achievement. She was grateful because the running number was not her mainstay and the preparation he did was relatively short.

“What I felt at that time was that I didn’t expect it and was very grateful to be able to get gold in this number because the 400-meter running number is not Arianti’s mains number, moreover the preparation was also very short,” said Arianti via WhatsApp message, Monday (6/12/2021).


In addition to getting a gold medal at the Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 event, Arianti has won several other achievements. These achievements include the 2018 Asian Para Games silver medal at 400 meters, silver medal at 100 meters at the 2018 Asian Para Games, silver medal at 400 meters at the 2018 Asian Para Games Test Event, and silver medal at the 100 meter Test Event at the 2018 Asian Para Games.

In the future, Arianti will prepare for international championship events, such as the 2022 ASEAN Para Games and the 2022 Asian Para Games. Arianti explained that she had to make many improvements, starting from increasing her endurance and mastery of technique.

“In the future, I will prepare myself for international events, such as the 2022 ASEAN Para Games and 2022 Asian Para Games. I have to make a lot of improvements, starting from increasing my endurance to mastering techniques with lots of practice, especially for the 400 meters,” Arianti explained.
