FKIP – Ganesha Study Program Student Association (HMP) History Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) held a social service activity on Saturday (12/18/2021). This activity was chaired by a student of the 2021 History Education Study Program, Nasta Ayundra Oktavian Mahardi, and supervised by a lecturer in History Education, Dadan Adi Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.A.
This activity was carried out with the aim of fostering a sense of humanity among students of the History Education Study Program. The social service activities which were also part of the new student recruitment activities were carried out in five locations, namely Banjarsari Monument, Solo Wholesale Center, Manahan, Solo Balapan Station, and Tirtonadi Terminal. One of the students involved explained that this activity began with joint planning.
“This social service activity began with joint planning by the students of History Education 2021 and the management of HMP Ganesha. Then, activities in the field were carried out by new students who were spread out in five locations. This social service activity is in the form of distributing food to people in need,” said Ahmad Fathul Majid, a student of History Education 2021, who took part in this activity.
This activity was attended by 85 students consisting of the committee, field participants, and active participants. Ahmad explained that the funding for this activity came from fundraising.
“The funding for this activity is from donations that have been collected from students of History Education 2021 and people who want to participate in this activity through donations,” said Ahmad.
Ahmad added that the focus of this activity was to provide food to the underprivileged. Ahmad expressed his feelings about being involved in this activity.
“The impression felt in the implementation of this activity is quite pleasant and meaningful because after giving food to the community, we also feel their happiness for what we provide and can also meet new friends directly after a long time of online learning,” Ahmad explained.
At the end of the presentation, Ahmad expressed his hope.
“Hopefully, by carrying out this activity, it can foster cohesiveness for new students of History Education 2021 and, this activity is also expected to foster a sense of concern for local residents. This activity is a real action of students, who will later serve the community. Hopefully what we do will be a trigger for other students to compete in goodness,” Ahmad concluded.
