FKIP – Being an ambassador should carry out the mandate that she carries. Being an ambassador also represents the institution that houses it. This is what is currently Fathkuldoing Nursafaah, Student of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PPkn) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta who was named “Mas Wonosobo 2021”.

Fatkhul received the title “Mas Wonosobo 2021” after winning in the grand final round of the Selection of Tourism Ambassadors for Mas Mbak Wonosobo Regency by winning the 1st place title. The event was held by the Tourism and Culture Office of Wonosobo Regency at Hotel Dafam on Tuesday (3/8/2021) night.

With this title, Fathkul has the mandate to be a representative of the Soul of Java generation. That is, he has the task of promoting Wonosobo tourism by exploring all the potential it has, both in terms of natural beauty, traditions, culture, and the existing education system.

Provision of Organizational Experience and Motivation

Before taking on the mandate as Mas Wonosobo 2021, Fatkhul had several experiences in student activities. These experiences include the Education Staff of the PPkn Study Program Student Association (HMP Demokratia) FKIP UNS in 2019, the Student Welfare Advocacy Staff (Adkesma) of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FKIP UNS in 2019, Chairman of the Legislative Commission of the Student Council (Dema) of FKIP UNS) in 2019. 2019, and the Coordinator of the Department of Development of the Student Association of Pillars in 2020.

Fatkhul is also actively participating in the Independent Learning Campus Program (MBKM) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), namely the Teaching Campus Program Batch I in 2021. Not only that, but he also participated in the Young Fighters Program by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in the same year.

Fatkhul explained that he had known about the selection of the Tourism Ambassador for Mas Mbak in Wonosobo Regency since he was in school. The positive environment that was formed within the Mas Mbak Wonosobo Association motivated him to take part in the event. It was this experience and motivation that brought him the title “Mas Wonosobo 2021”.

Students Must Take Role

According to Fatkhul, youth has an important role in regional development. As a youth, especially students, they should have a concern and contribution to the development of their area.

“Youth has a very important role in regional development. That is, the progress of a region is related to how the role of youth in it is, such as how youth productivity is for the progress and existence of the region. Therefore, being a student who cares and wants to contribute to regional development is very important. important. Many ways can be done as long as there is a will, one of which is participating in the election of regional ambassadors,” said Fathkul when contacted by the FKIP journalist team on Friday (1/14/2022).
