FKIP – Three students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret ( UNS) Surakarta won 2nd place in the Engineering Creativity Design Competition (ECDC) 2021 with the theme “Product Innovation as a Form of Utilizing Digital Technology”.
At this event, Alwannuha Fatah N. from the 2018 Building Engineering Education study program, Riska Nurhayati from the 2019 Building Engineering Education study program, and Mutiara Hana Huwaida from the 2020 Elementary School Teacher Education study program won the competition for the 5.0 innovative learning application design category.
The competition was announced on Tuesday (12/14/2021) via social media Instagram in the form of a poster. Previously, the team went through a series of competition activities, including the collection of works and the final 10 participants by presenting their work online.

The idea proposed in the competition is the Pelajarind application. Mutiara, one of the team members explained what the Pelajarind application meant when interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Thursday (20/1/2022).
“Leajarind is a learning support application based on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Through VR and AR, virtual learning can feel more real. This technology also helps students understand the material with interesting learning media, “explained Mutiara.
This application is based on the background of the many learning applications that have emerged recently. However, the available features are considered monotonous so students feel bored using them. In addition, practical learning and field trips during the pandemic are difficult, so Pelanjarind is offered as a solution.
Mutiara explained the goals to be achieved with the Pelajarind application.
“Learning aims to be a unique and interesting learning media so that children’s interest in learning increases. With increased interest in learning, of course, children’s focus and motivation will increase which has an impact on improving children’s learning outcomes, “explained Mutiara.
In the end, Mutiara expressed her hopes regarding the Pelajarind application.
“Hopefully, this idea, which is still in the form of an idea, can be applied in learning in Indonesian schools,” said Mutiara.
Apart from this competition, Mutiara also won the 3rd Occupational Health and Safety Cup (OSH CUP) 2021.
