FKIP – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Surakarta Peron Group, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Laboratory Performance with a script entitled “Nilap” offline in the Hall of Building F FKIP UNS on Monday-Tuesday ( 24-25/1/2022).

Laborat Performance is a stage that is held routinely by UKM Peron Surakarta. This stage has the aim of introducing the staging process to new members as a follow-up to basic training. In addition, this performance is a place for students’ creativity and introduces the artistic process.

The name Pentas Laborat means “laboratory” which in this case was interpreted as the first step for the future in the theater process on the Surakarta Platform.

The script that is staged in this stage is the “Nilap” script, which is an adaptation of the “Ayahku Pulang” script by Usmar Ismail. This manuscript was adapted by director Effendy Irawan into a Javanese script.

Although many parties have performed the script of “Ayahku Pulang”, the director changed the script to Javanese because he wanted to give something different. Although the essence of the story is the same, there are still differences in the “Nilap” script.

The performance, led by Annisa Ratna Kumala, succeeded in attracting the audience of new FKIP UNS students, the general public, and alumni of the Peron. Kumala, the chief executive of the Laboratory for Performance, expressed her hope for the future activities of the Surakarta Platform for UKM activities.

“Hopefully in the future, we can go back to the process together. To the audience, I hope you come home with something. For new members who have finished their performance worship, this is the first step to the next theater process,” said Kumala when interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Thursday (27/1/2022).

In one year, the group’s agenda includes several performances, namely Laborat Show for new members, Production Performance, and Promotion Performance to attract new members. Currently, UKM Peron Surakarta FKIP UNS is working on a project for the next performance.
