FKIP – Zalfaa Azalia Pursita, student of Special Education Study Program (PKh) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta managed to make a proud achievement, namely being the 1st Winner of the Selection of the Central Java Language Ambassador. Zalfaa managed to become the 1st winner and represent Central Java at the national level which was held on Thursday – Tuesday (14 – 19/10/2021) at the Mercure Hotel, Jakarta.

The selection of language ambassadors is an annual routine activity organized by the Language Development and Development Agency, Kemendikbudristek. The purpose of selecting language ambassadors is focused on promoting Indonesian language priority, preserving regional languages, and mastering foreign languages.

Zalfaa conveyed that the selection of language ambassadors included the making of linguistic krida, presentations, and continued with the final event.

“The process of selecting language ambassadors, in which we were asked to make linguistic criteria, presentations, then selected 3 pairs of winners in the grand final,” explained Zalfaa.

Zalfaa also shared his feelings about winning the language ambassador election, which was happy and honored.

“I’m happy, it’s an honor to be trusted to be the representative of the province of Central Java to the national event. However, behind that there is a long, tiring process, such as public speaking practice, preparing the Sima Game, not to mention that when you are in pairs you have to adapt, adapting each other’s nature to build chemistry,” said Zalfaa.

Zalfaa also conveyed his message and hope for the future.

“Hopefully I can be a person who minimizes expectations and can be useful with small things. Anyway, what is being faced must be enjoyed, lived as well as possible, there will be good things that await afterward as long as you believe in the path that has been prepared by God, “concluded Zalfaa.

For information, Zalfaa is not only studying, but also excels. Zalfaa is interested in the world of literacy, such as the establishment of a free tutoring community called Rumah Mentari and an online library called Sanbukis.

For the achievements that have been made by Zalfaa, among others, 1st Place in the Indonesian FKIP Debate Competition in Indonesia 2021, the best 4 KDBI FKIP speakers in Indonesia 2021, Student Exchange ICT Kemendikbudristek Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia 2021, Top 5 Grab the Tempo Editorial Chair by Tempo Institute 2021, and 1st Place Winner of FKIP UNS 2021 Achievement Student. Most recently, Zalfaa managed to become an awardee of the Archipelago Activist Scholarship (Bakti Nusa) Batch 11.
