FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held the Dean Cup I FKIP UNS Table Tennis Tournament on Thursday-Friday (17-18/3/2022) in the Third Floor Hall of FKIP UNS Building as a series of activities 46th UNS Anniversary. The tournament was attended by academics within the scope of FKIP UNS which included faculty leaders, lecturers, and education staff.

The activity was opened with the presentation of the report on the implementation of the activities and remarks by the Dean of FKIP UNS. Then, continued with the opening and the match.

In the presentation of his activity report, Yunanto, S.T., M. Si. as the chief executive said that the Dean Cup I FKIP UNS Table Tennis Tournament featured two match numbers, namely men’s doubles and men’s singles.

Furthermore, he also explained that the tournament was aimed at increasing friendship between the academics of FKIP UNS and identifying potential in the field of sports, especially table tennis.

“The Table Tennis Tournament Dean Cup I FKIP UNS is a series of activities for the 46th Anniversary of UNS organized by FKIP UNS. This activity aims to increase the friendship of the academic community, namely between faculty leaders, lecturers, and FKIP UNS education staff. This is also used as a forum to identify potential in FKIP UNS, especially in the field of table tennis so that they can send the best representatives to compete at the university level,” Yunanto explained.

Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP UNS directly opened the tournament. He also gave a speech. In his remarks, he explained a series of activities for the 46th UNS Anniversary held by FKIP UNS.

“The Table Tennis Tournament held by FKIP was packaged in order to enliven the 46th Anniversary of UNS. FKIP itself held several academic and non-academic activities in the celebration. For non-academic activities, especially in the sports field, FKIP held a Field Tennis Tournament and today held a Table Tennis Tournament,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

He hopes that the tournament can maintain friendship, identify talents in the field of table tennis, and popularize table tennis within the FKIP UNS extended family.

“Hopefully this Table Tennis Tournament can increase the friendship of the big family of FKIP UNS. With an intensive friendship, it is hoped that it can increase sustenance, especially health. With a healthy physique, it can increase our concentration in carrying out academic activities within the scope of FKIP UNS. In addition, “Hopefully this activity can also identify talents in the field of table tennis as representatives in university level matches and popularize the sport,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Then, the tournament started with the men’s doubles competition and continued with the men’s singles competition. For each race number, the best three will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
