FKIP – The Chancellor of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, represented by the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S. and the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel (Dirjen GTK) represented by the Chair of the Teacher Professional Education Working Group (PPG) of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Dr. Elvira, M.Si. also attended and gave a speech at the Release of PPG Pre-service Academic Years (TA) 2020/2021 Period III which was held by the PPG Study Program (Prodi) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS on Tuesday (29/3/2022).

Prof. Yunus, who represented the UNS Chancellor to conduct the inauguration and release of PPG FKIP UNS graduates for the 2020/2021 year, attended the event offline in the Hall of Building G FKIP UNS. In his remarks, he conveyed his congratulations on the graduation of 71 PPG Pre-service students for the 2020/2021 academic year.

“On behalf of the leadership of Sebelas Maret University, I would like to congratulate and succeed the PPG Pre-service students who have passed the PPG UNS Program today. With the completion of your education, it means that from today onwards you are legally certified as an educator with superior competence which has been fully determined by the government,” said Prof. Yunus.


Prof. Yunus advised that graduates of PPG Pre-Office FKIP UNS FY 2020/2021 to understand how technology works to support the implementation of classroom learning and other administrative tasks.

“The world of education is currently in two periods at once, namely in the era of digital transformation and the Covid-19 pandemic. Both provide lessons on how education personnel must carry out the learning process within limitations. No matter how sophisticated technology is, in fact it cannot replace the role of educators. As a professional teacher in the digital era later, you must understand how technology works to support the implementation of learning in the classroom and other administrative tasks, “said Prof. Yunus.

Dr. Elvira, M.Si. as Chair of the PPG Working Group of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia attended to represent the Director General of GTK online through the Zoom Meeting application. In his remarks, he also congratulated the graduation of the PPG Pre-service FKIP UNS students for the 2020/2021 academic year.

“On behalf of the Director General of GTK and the staff, I would like to congratulate all young teachers who have completed their PPG Education at Sebelas Maret University and will receive a certificate as educators. Congratulations, you have been officially sworn in and have taken the oath of teaching profession. You have fulfilled what was mandated in Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers,” said Dr. Elvira.

Dr. Elvira hopes that the deepening of the material and experience gained during the PPG learning process at UNS, PPG Pre-service FKIP students UNS FY 2020/2021 can be applied and improved when they enter the education unit.
