FKIP – Student Association of Accounting Education Study Program (HIMAPAKSI) Teacher Training and Education Sciences (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta cooperates with Kwadungan Village, Jero District, Karanganyar as a target village which is named “Smart Village”.
Kwadungan Village is inhabited by people whose livelihoods are mostly farmers, traders, and private employees. This village has the potential for natural resources and human resources that can be optimized.
Kus Indrani Listyoningrum as the head of this program explained his reasons for choosing Kwadungan Village as a partner for the assisted villages.
“The reason we chose Kwadungan Village is that this village has active human resources, wants to learn, and wants to develop. In addition, the people here are also classified as literate towards MSMEs. This is evidenced by the existence of small birdcage businesses and other traders,” Indrani explained on Tuesday (12/3/2022).
During the observation process, Himapaksi found several problems in Kwadungan Village, ranging from education to the economy.
“However, we found several problems, including the intellectual lowness of children to village youth, there are kindergartens that lack educators, and people who implement MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) still do not know and understand financial literacy,” Indrani said.
The work program carried out by Himapaksi carries the theme “Improving Informal and Formal Education and Focusing on Financial Literacy”.
From this theme, there are 5 work programs offered, namely the Insight Corner, Jarlistung House, Marigera, Financial Literacy, and Saving My Hobby.
The interesting thing in Kwadungan Village is that several people in Kwadungan Village have a business in making bird cages that have been traded in the city to outside the city.
In its implementation, Himapaksi collaborates with youth organizations and PKK (Family Welfare Development) in Kwadungan Village, elementary schools, and kindergartens, as well as TPA (Al-Qur’an Educational Park) so that the planned work program can run smoothly.
