FKIP UNS Accepts and Agrees on Two Collaborations with FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang

FKIP – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received a benchmarking visit and agreed to a cooperation agreement with FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang (UPGRIP) on Wednesday (25/5/2022). The activity was carried out offline in the Hall of Building A FKIP UNS.

There are two cooperation agreements agreed upon by FKIP UNS and UPGRIP. The two agreements are the Tri Dharma College cooperation agreement between FKIP UNS and UPGRIP and a cooperation agreement in improving the quality of academic qualifications of lecturers between the Doctoral Study Program (S-3) History Education FKIP UNS and the S-1 History Education Study Program UPGRIP.

The activity was also attended by the Chancellor and the UPGRIP Leaders, the Dean of FKIP and UPGRIP Leaders, the Deans and Leaders of FKIP UNS, as well as Lecturers and Educational Staff of FKIP UNS and UPGRIP.

In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP UNS conveyed the profile, vision, and mission of FKIP UNS. He also introduced the leadership of FKIP UNS.

“FKIP UNS has a range of leaders with their respective duties and responsibilities. First, there is Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc. who served as Deputy Dean for Academics, Research, and Student Affairs. Next, there is Dr. Dewi Kusuma Wardani, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean of Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics. Then there is Dr. Djono, M.Pd., who served as Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information. Then Yunanto, S.T., M.Sc. served as Administrative Coordinator, Mila Purani Sistiyan, S.E., M.M., served as Academic Sub-coordinator, and Luhur Sukamto, S.H., served as Non-academic Sub-coordinator,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. also explained that at FKIP UNS there are 47 study programs of which there are five Doctoral Study Programs or S-3, 17 Masters or Masters Study Programs, one Professional Study Program, namely Teacher Professional Education (PPG), and 24 Undergraduate Study Programs or S. -1. He also explained that there is one new study program that will be opened this year, namely the S-1 Educational Technology Study Program.

Then he explained the work units at FKIP UNS which included the Education Development Center (EDC), International Office Unit (IO), Journal Unit, Quality Assurance Unit, and Coordinator for Research and Community Service FKIP UNS (KPPMF), and the School Field Introduction Unit.

Next Dr. Mardiyana said that the cooperation that was established was a very good form of activity to support each other and together become better in the future. This collaborative activity is also expected to run well and be beneficial for FKIP UNS and UPGRIS. He hopes that this collaboration can be carried out well.

“We hope that this agreed-upon cooperation can run and run well. Not only written but can be executed well. Thus, it is hoped that they can provide mutual benefits and make FKIP UNS and FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang more advanced and better in the future, “said Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, the Dean of FKIP Universitas PGRI Palembang, Dr. Dessy Wardiah, M.Pd., in her speech said that this activity will be the first cooperation agreement and in this collaboration, FKIP UPGRIP will send six lecturers to carry out further doctoral or doctoral studies. Furthermore, Dr. Dessy also said that this activity was aimed at carrying out orders and targets from the Chancellor by choosing FKIP UNS as a place for further study for S-3 Lecturers of S-1 History of UPGRIP.

“We carry out this activity not only as a collaboration but also order and target from the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, there must be 40% of lecturers with doctoral degrees by 2025. Therefore, we chose FKIP UNS to be a place for further study from a PGRI FKIP Lecturer. We hope that the learning process can run smoothly and well for our lecturers,” said Dr. Dessy.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Dessy hopes to collaborate with FKIP UNS in other matters, such as joint research, the Merdeka Learning Campus Independent (MBKM) collaboration program, and participating in other collaborations under the direction of FKIP UNS.
