FKIP – Aldi Dwi Saputra, Master of Indonesian Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) won a national achievement, namely 1st place in a photography competition. This competition was organized by the Student Association of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program (HIMPOBSI) UNS.

The 2022 National Poetry and Photography Competition were held to welcome the month of Ramadan 2022. The competition was attended by 40 participants from all over Indonesia. The series of events for this competition include registration and submission of works, payment of registration, judging, and announcement of the championship. The announcement of the winner was held on Friday (17/05/2022) and Aldi managed to become the 1st place winner.

The work that was carried out in this competition was entitled “Learning Morals from a Father’s Figure”. Aldi explained that the meaning of the title of the photo is that children will learn from the figure of their parents.

“The adage ‘The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree’ means that the nature of a child is not far from its parents. The figure of parents has an important role in the moral development and behavior of a child. A child learns manners from what his parents or the people around him do. The way to teach children about the character is not just by telling them explicitly about the character, but rather by showing how to behave and behave well as an illustration of good character. Thus, it is clear that the behavior of parents will tend to be imitated by their children,” explained Aldi to the fkip.uns.ac.id team.

Aldi also expressed his hope for the meaning contained in the photo.

“I hope that my photography work can be a self-reflection, that our behavior will affect the character of the people around us. So let’s try our best to have good manners so that we can have a positive impact on our environment,” continued Aldi.

At the end of the interview, Aldi also delivered a message to postgraduate students.

“I especially advise my postgraduate friends at UNS, even though they don’t have free time because they are busy with tasks that lead to scientific publications. Let’s take the time to work and participate in competitions to make UNS’ alma mater proud. This is because when you graduate, there is no such thing as free time, only time is spent,” concluded Aldi.
