FKIP – Real Work Lecture Group (KKN) 55 Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta also enlivened the independence day. The moment of independence day was warmly welcomed by the residents of Karakan Village on Sunday (21/8/2022). This enthusiasm is because the last two years have not celebrated Indonesian independence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The implementation of this activity involves UNS KKN students which are realized in the KKN work program.
One of the work programs held is the Santri Gathering event in Karakan Village. The event was held at the Karakan Village Hall hall and was attended by seven TPQ. This event succeeded in raising the enthusiasm of the participants so that they were able to gather the number of participants as many as 300 students.
The series of Santri Gathering events opened with remarks from representatives of the 55 UNS KKN Group, namely Respati Arli Shigit Wisanggeni then continued with remarks from the Head of the TPQ Coordinating Board (Badko) throughout Karakan Village and ended with remarks from the Karakan Village Head, namely Mr. Sutoyo.
“I hope that this event will be able to strengthen the relationship and foster enthusiasm in learning the Qur’an, Hadith, and other monotheistic teachings,” explained the Karakan Village Head.
This religious event was attended not only by the TPQ students but other elements of society were also present, such as the Karakan Village apparatus and representatives from the Weru Police. The first series of events opened with a santri carnival where all participants were grouped based on their respective TPQs and directed to surround the village according to the route accompanied by the appearance of typical chants for each TPQ.
The event continued with a speech competition with the theme “Devoted to Both Parents” or “Birrul Walidain”. After the speech competition was held, the female students were entertained with a storytelling performance by Kak Muhammad Nasir who told about a pious child going to heaven and closed with the announcement of the winner.
TPQ Al-Mubarok Pondong won first place in the speech competition category and the category with the largest number of students, and the winner of the student carnival category was won by TPQ Al-Hikmah Kalisige.
