HUMAS FKIP – Students of the Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won 1st place in the Microteaching Competition at the National Student Competition of FKIP in Indonesia.

The competition was held at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on June 20, 2022—August 25, 2022. In the competition, the theme was “Technological and Digital Innovation in Developing Student Creativity to Improve Education Quality in the Industrial Revolution Era. 4.0″.

In the competition, Inka Pungky Rahmawati, a student in Chemistry Education class 2019 won 1st place in the microteaching competition. Interviewed by the fkip.uns.ac.id team, Inka conveyed her impression of the achievements.

“The impression was very happy because the jury was very open in delivering criticism and suggestions after I did the microteaching presentation. In addition, I also train myself in increasing my teaching skills,” said Inka on Thursday (22/9/2022).

On that occasion, Inka presented material with the theme “Reaction Rate with Scientific Approach and Discovery Learning Model”. According to him, the material is material that is prone to misconceptions.

“The material presented is Reaction Rate with Scientific Approach and Discovery Learning Model. The reason is that the reaction rate is a material that is prone to misconceptions, for that I try to make an interesting learning activity, and demands active students so that the delivery of learning materials is memorable, “explained Inka.

Inka also explained the technicalities of the competitions that were followed. Starting with the selection of the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) to making an online presentation.

“The flow, of course, is to send the lesson plans and learning videos first and then they are selected until there are only six finalists, then we present the final round which will be directly tested by competent judges via Zoom,” said Inka.

In the end, Inka expressed her gratitude and hoped that her fellow students could add to their achievements and stay motivated.

“The message is thank you to all those who have supported me and the Chemistry Education lecturers who have taught me everything about chemistry content and good teaching methods. Hopefully, all of them can add to their achievements and not be discouraged in studying,” concluded Inka.
