HUMAS FKIP – Joined a team, two students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won 2nd place in the National Level Lampion 1.0 Learning Media Competition. They are Mohammad Abdul Mukhit and Rozin Fata Ulwan from the Physics Education Study Program, FKIP UNS.
Lampion 1.0 was organized by the Family of Students of the Masters and Doctoral Program (KMMD) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The theme of this competition is “Brilliant: Bring Innovation Learning Media to Improve Quality Education”. There are five sub-themes in this competition, namely Science Education, Physics Education, Chemistry Education, Biology Education, and Mathematics Education.
In the competition, Mukhit and Rozin took the sub-theme of Physics Education. They carry the Internet of Things (IoT)-based physics learning media. The media was entitled “Innovation of Physics Learning Using Real Media Discharging Capacitors to Improve Students’ Understanding of the Half-Time Concept”. Contacted by the journalist team at fkip.uns.ac.id, Rozin and Mukhit expressed their feelings when they were declared champions.
“We felt excited when we were declared 2nd place. That means we can compete with other finalists who already hold S.Pd. or currently studying for S-2. We will use this result as a stepping stone to enter the world of education by developing interactive physics learning media based on technology and easy to use by students,” said Rozin, Saturday (9/24/2022).
Rozin added that the learning media they created also received a recommendation to be included in the ICOSETH international conference and could be used as mini-thesis research for them.
Mukhit explained that they got the race information from his partner or searched through his social media accounts. He also explained that his consideration in choosing a competition was the suitability of his interests and abilities,
“We received information about the competition from our seniors who are currently pursuing their master’s degree at UNY. In addition, we also look for competition information from WhatsApp and Instagram users. Aspects that we consider in choosing a competition, one of which is the use of draft lectures or lecturer research whose topics can be contested. In addition, we also consider our interests and abilities in choosing competitions,” explained Mukhit.
At the end of the interview, Mukhit advised the students to optimize their time by working. He also invites students to do small things that are useful consistently.
“We invite fellow students to continue to optimize the available time by working. Start from the smallest things first, not only with big ambitions. If we are consistent in small things, later we will be easy to climb higher stairs, “said Mukhit.
