HUMAS FKIP – Mutiara Hana Huwaida, student of Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD), and Alwannuha Fatah N., student of Building Engineering Education Study Program (PTB) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won 1st place in the International Creative Media Challenge Competition in the international arena.

International Creative Media Challenge is a competition organized by the Vocational School of UNS. There are two branches of the competition, namely animation and creative video. The competition be held from March-July 2022.

Hana explained that the technical aspects of this competition are that participants create 3D animation, Computer Graphic Images (CGI), 2D, and stop motion.

“The technique of the competition is that participants create an animation work, which can be in the form of 3D, CGI, 2D, or stop motion. The work is then uploaded and broadcast through Youtube channels and social media. The work is judged purely by the jury without looking at the number of likes or post interactions. Winners will be announced through the organizer’s Instagram account,” explained Hana.

Hana explained that the works that were included in the competition were inspired by the diverse natural and cultural landscapes of Indonesia.

“In this work, we try to present the natural beauty of Indonesia in the form of realistic 3D animation so that the audience can feel and be amazed by the diversity of Indonesia,” she explained.

The impression that Hana got when she was declared the 1st winner was that she did not have any expectations because the competition was not from their field of expertise.

“Here we learn that anything can be achieved, but it is important to remember that learning is the basis of everything, as well as hope for all of us so that in the future we can always develop in a more positive direction and not just give up. Keep the spirit to face the problems that will come and especially for this team, hopefully we will continue to win in any event,” said Hana.

Hana also hopes that FKIP students will remain enthusiastic to explore new things, whether related to the field of study or not.

“I hope that all FKIP friends can be enthusiastic about exploring things that are related or unrelated to their field of study. Who knows, the opportunities and sustenance are outside the comfort zone. Like us, we have an educational background but managed to win the 3D design animation competition,” she concluded.
