HUMAS FKIP – Two teams of students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta have made a proud achievement in the National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) for FKIP students throughout Indonesia. The first team, namely Iksan Riva Nanda and Andrian Iswanto from the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program (PTM) won 1st place. Then, Karima Majid and Rizka Aulia Putri from Chemistry Education Study Program won 2nd place.

This competition was held online at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara in August with the theme “The Role of Millennial Generation in Increasing Character Potential and Competitiveness in the Metaverse Era”. Contacted by the fkip.uns.ac.id team on Tuesday (4/10/2022), Iksan revealed that the achievements were as expected and God willed.

“As expected and Allah wills,” said Iksan.

In this competition, Iksan and Andrian came up with an idea entitled “Greencloud Labs: Optimizing the Planting of Millennial Characters who Care for the Environment through the Innovation of Digital Integrated Waste Management Tools”.

“The background of the idea is how to make technology that can facilitate and attract people’s attention, especially millennials or the current young generation in waste management and how to instill a caring character for the environment in society, especially millennials or today’s young generation with innovative tools by the author,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Karima said that he was grateful to have been allowed to be one of the participants and win the championship.

“Alhamdulillah grateful to be given the opportunity and trusted to be one of the participants in this event and Alhamdulillah very happy and proud to be able to become the champion in this event, which cannot be separated from the support of parents, Mr. Ari as a mentor, and also other parties,” he explained.

Karima and Rizka brought up the idea with the title “Ethno-Chemistry: Klaten Clay Batik with Clay Dyes as a Context for Learning Cultured Chemistry”.

“This paper, I try to be able to raise the potential of this culture in the context of chemistry learning, which in the learning can apply the character of cultural values, develop potential and competitiveness, and can improve the economy from the entrepreneurial side,” explained Karima.

In the end, Iksan conveys the message that the idea is relatively superior to other ideas, but the problem is how the idea can be realized. Meanwhile, Karima advised to be brave to start.

“Daring to start is the right choice to prove our abilities, especially to ourselves. The environment requires our attention, therefore our ideas need to be conveyed and realized. Cheers to all, good results begin with good intentions and are supported by a good process,” said Karima.
