FKIP — To increase the competitiveness of graduates at the global level, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta continues the program to accelerate the internationalization of architecture. One of the internationalization programs carried out by FKIP UNS is the School Field Introduction (PLP) activity for overseas students, either in the form of inter-university student exchanges or assignments at Indonesian Overseas Schools (SILN). The program managed by the UNS FKIP internationalization team is in line with UNS’ efforts towards World Class University (WCU).

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the International PLP Program was held through two types of departures, namely through coordination with the SEAMEO Secretariat and UNS with partner campuses. The program under SEAMEO is called “Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher Project)”, while the one under the Bilateral Cooperation Program is usually called PLP International U to U.

In 2022, the program that can be implemented is the U to U International PLP Program. This activity is aimed at improving pedagogic abilities and teaching skills for student teacher candidates while encouraging mastery of English and providing opportunities for prospective teachers to gain experience in a global environment.

In this U to U International PLP, 16 students will be dispatched from UNS to conduct International Teaching Internships at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as many as 4 students and 12 students at Thepsatri Rajabhat University.

The sixteen international PLP students have participated in several PLP series in Indonesia. The series of PLP activities that must be carried out at UNS local partner schools for 3 months in the context of international PLP activities are carried out in 2 months local and 1 month international stages.

International PLP students who will carry out International PLP at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia will leave on October 30, 2022 and return to UNS on November 27, 2022. Then, for students who will go to Thepsatri Rajabhat University will leave on November 4, 2022 and return to UNS on December 3, 2022.
