FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta discussed exploring cooperation with SEAMEO QITEP in LANGUAGE (SEAQIL) which took place in the Soemarno Building FKIP UNS meeting room on (20/10/2022). This face-to-face assessment discusses the forms of cooperation that can exist between the language departments/interests in FKIP UNS and SEAQIL. Therefore, the information conveyed in the discussion is clear and detailed, and even includes a scheme of activities that can later be carried out, including student activities, lecturer research, community service implementation, training for lecturers, and other activities.
SEAMEO Regional Center for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel (QITEP) in Language (SEAQIL) itself is a regional center established by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education (SEAMEO) focusing on developing the quality of language teachers (Indonesian as a Foreign Speaker (BIPA). , Arabic, Japanese, German, and Mandarin) and education staff. To be able to carry it out optimally, SEAQIL is committed to always developing the quality of training, seminars, workshops, and other services. The discussion activity was attended by Dr. Misbah Fikrianto as Deputy Director of Administration for SEAQIL, M.Masrur Ridwan, (SEAQIL Cooperation and Public Relations Division Staff), and Estiningsih Suprandini (SEAQIL Cooperation and Public Relations Division Staff) and Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., As the Dean of FKIP, Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., Vice Dean for Academics, Research, Student Affairs, Dr. Dewi Kusuma Wardani, M.Si., Deputy Dean of Human Resources, Logistics, and Finance, Dr. Djono., M.Pd., Deputy Dean of Planning, Business, Cooperation and Information, Yunanto, M.Si., as the Head of Administration, Dr. Budhi Setiawan, M.Pd., Head of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Lecturer from the English Education Study Program, and the Regional Language and Literature Education Study Program.

Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., the Dean of FKIP UNS said in his speech that the form of activity or program to be agreed on was expected to be beneficial for both parties and advance the world of education.
“We hope that in the discussion of exploring the collaboration that will be carried out or agreed upon, it can bring mutual benefits to each institution, both FKIP UNS or SEAQIL, as well as the form of activities or programs not only students who are involved but can also involve lecturers or lecturers. even education staff”, explained Dr. Mardiyana.
Next Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si., also added that if this includes activities that focus on the language field, it would be better if another meeting could be held by inviting study programs that have language interests outside FKIP, where at UNS there are also language interest study programs in Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) and Vocational School (SV)
“It is well known that SEAQIL itself focuses on language interests, for that we hope to hold another meeting to discuss by inviting or inviting study programs with language interests other than FKIP, where at UNS there are also study programs with interests or language majors such as at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) and also at the Vocational School (SV) so that with this they can collaborate by making programs or activities to be agreed upon to improve the quality of education and help improve progress faculties, schools, and UNS”, added Dr. Mardiyana.
Dr. Misbah Fikrianto as Deputy Director of Administration of SEAQIL said that SEAQIL is a strategic institution in the fields of education, culture, research, and technology, referring to the context of language and culture in the context of SDGs and supporting the Kemendikbudristek Merdeka Learning-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM).

Furthermore, Dr. Misbah also explained that the cooperation program can be linked to the achievement of the KPI, which is related to competitive and comparative aspects. For example, the collaboration program is synergized into IKU 2 (Off-Campus Experience) through the School Literacy Club (KLS) program, where students will accompany student literacy activities for 14 meetings per semesters with various specializations and get competency development through training. In addition, in supporting the achievements related to IKU 3 (Lecturers with Activities Outside Campus), the lecturers provide assistance and research development through the SEAQIL Regrants/Teacher Professional Development”, explained Dr. Misbah.
Furthermore, the discussion ran warmly and interestingly by conveying and explaining several programs or activities that could be mutually agreed upon.
