FKIP – Another proud achievement made by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Science Education (FKIP)  Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta which managed to win awards in the Annual Student Education Festival (Festa) Communication Forum (Forkom) Leaders of State FKIPs throughout Indonesia. The reason is, the UNS FKIP delegation managed to win 6 categories of winners in the festival which was held at the Puri Saron Hotel, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, 28-30 October 2022.

The FKIP Leaders Forum Festival throughout Indonesia is a meeting activity for FKIP leaders, starting from the dean, vice dean, and head of the department, to the head of a study program. This annual festival is held to coordinate activities and prepare work programs in the context of advancing and improving education in Indonesia. In 2022, FKIP Mataram University Lombok was appointed to host this festival.

The first award that FKIP UNS received came from the Indonesian Language Debate Competition category. In this category, 2 FKIP UNS students who joined one team managed to win 3rd place. They are Akhmad Mukhibun and Esti Yulandari from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI). In addition to the two students, PBSI FKIP students also won first place in the Poster Competition category. She is Nuri Puji Hastuti.

Furthermore, FKIP UNS also won 3rd place in the English Debate Competition, represented by Murtiningsih Aprilia Putri and Adlina Nur Azri. They come from the English Education Study Program (PBI). The fourth award that FKIP UNS won was 1st place in the English Presenter Competition category. The award was obtained by Muhammad Hilmi Sabitul Azmi from the Office of Administration Education (PAP).

Meanwhile, the fifth award obtained by FKIP UNS was 2nd place in the Learning Media Competition category, which was obtained by Aulia Akhmad Fahreza and Putriana Dafa Puspitawati from the Surakarta Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD). Finally, FKIP UNS also won 1st place in the Scientific Writing Competition category by Alifta Nurillah Kosasih from the Mathematics Education Study Program.

Met by the Fkip.uns.ac.id Journalist Team, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. as the Dean of FKIP UNS expressed his gratitude for this achievement. He also congratulated the students of the FKIP UNS delegation.

“For the results of the FKIP State Leadership Forum for Communications Festival in Indonesia, FKIP UNS managed to get 3 1st place, 1 2nd place, and 2nd place 3. Alhamdulillah, of course, we are grateful for these results. We congratulate the students of the FKIP UNS delegation who managed to get this proud achievement,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Furthermore, Dr. Mardiyana also explained that the results of this achievement will be used as a reference and evaluation for the UNS FKIP Student Unit Team. These references and assessments are expected to improve student achievement at FKIP UNS in the future.

“We are already on a good track by having a student unit. In this student unit, there are several divisions, such as the division that handles student creativity programs, entrepreneurship activities, student organizations, and competitions at international and national levels. Therefore, in participating in the competition, we recruited several lecturers as mentors. They also carry out evaluations and improvements to improve student achievement of FKIP UNS,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.
