FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret ( UNS) Surakarta received a visit from the Faculty of Education (FIP) Trunojoyo University Bangkalan, Madura on Friday (11/11/2022) in Meeting Room I Soemarno Building FKIP UNS. The visit was one of the efforts to optimize the development of student activities to produce superior and dignified FIP students.

The Trunojoyo University FIP team was welcomed directly by FKIP Leadership, Academic Sub Coordinators, the Head of the Student Affairs Unit, Lecturers, and Staff of FKIP UNS. The team consisted of Deputy Dean II, Deputy Dean III, the Head of the Laboratory, Student Affairs Unit Advisors, Study Program Student Association Advisors, as well as Trunojoyo University FIP Lecturers and Staff.

Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc., as the Dean of FKIP UNS, represented by Prof. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS conveyed at a glance about FKIP UNS which has 48 Study Programs consisting of 27 Undergraduate Study Programs, 17 Masters Study Programs (S2), 5 Study Programs Doctorate (S3), and the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) which has 24 fields of study in it. Prof. Slamet also explained about study programs that have been internationally accredited at FKIP UNS.

“The Study Program at FKIP UNS has also been internationally accredited, namely the internationally accredited Indonesian Language Education study program (FIBAA), ASIIN internationally accredited Biology Education, ASIIN Internationally accredited Chemistry Education, ASIIN internationally accredited Mechanical Engineering Education, and AUNQA internationally accredited Special Education. Then, there is Economics Education which is accredited by FIBAA International, and for others, it has been accredited as superior. Study programs outside the study program are currently in the process of applying for international accreditation. We hope that in 2023 all undergraduate study programs will be internationally accredited,” explained Prof. congratulations.

Next Prof. Slamet also explained the management of student affairs at FKIP UNS. He said that FKIP student affairs were organized in the FKIP UNS Student Affairs Unit.

“In the management of student affairs or student organizations at FKIP UNS, this is included in the main duties and functions of the Deputy for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs. We formed a Student Affairs Unit and Outstanding Student FKIP UNS to manage it. This unit is chaired by Dr. Septi Yulisetiani, M.Pd. with the team. They must carry out coaching and assistance to ormawa and students in carrying out activities. In addition, they are also tasked with encouraging and supporting students and ormawa to be active in participating in student championships at international and national levels,” said Prof. congratulations.

On the closing occasion, Prof. Salamet expressed his thanks and apologized if there were any shortcomings in the reception.

“We welcome and thank you and apologize if there are any shortcomings in the reception and hopefully this benchmarking activity or visit can provide mutual benefits in advancing both FKIP UNS and FIP Trunojoyo University,” concluded Prof. Slamet

, Vice Dean III of the FIP of Trunojoyo University, Fachrur Rozie, S.Pd., M.Pd., in his speech, expressed his gratitude for the remarks given to the FIP of Trunojoyo University. He also conveyed the aims and objectives of the visit to FKIP UNS.

“We thank you very much for the welcome you have given us. The purpose and objective of our visit to FKIP UNS were that we wanted to find out how the management of FKIP UNS student activities can be implemented so that we can also run it at the FIP of Trunojoyo University.

Thus, we hope to produce excellent and dignified students, and to advance the FIP of Trunojoyo University,” said Fachrur.

The event ran warmly and cheerfully. The activity ended with a discussion and question and answer regarding optimizing the development of student and ormawa activities as well as joint documentation.
