FKIP – Student Association of Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (HMP Demokratia) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta is carrying out Civic Teaching activities at Cokroaminoto 2 Vocational
School Surakarta from 14 July 2022 to December 2022.

This activity carries the theme “Learning Movement to Build a Golden Generation”. The activities were attended by children around the Cokroaminoto 2 Surakarta Vocational School, with a range of kindergarten to elementary school education.

Civic teaching is carried out with the aim of training students to get involved in the community in the world of education and gain experience that is not obtained in lectures.

This was conveyed by Asyiva Rizki Schumacher as the person in charge of the activity.

Learning in these activities begins by providing material about religion and then continues with general knowledge material.

“The series of activities begins with reading short surahs in the Al-Qur’an together. Then, TPA students read iqro or Al-Qur’an with PPKn students. Finally, provide materials. The
material given in the first to third week is religious material, then the last week is general material,” she said.

Asyiva explained that this activity had met the target set by the committee.

“The target of students participating in this activity has been fulfilled, where the initial target of the activity
was 40 while the students who took part in this activity reached 45,” said Asyiva.

Asyiva hopes that this activity can provide an overview for PPKn students regarding the art of educating in real life.

“The hope of this activity is that students can better understand that being a teacher must be patient and able to understand the character of each student so that they can provide learning properly according to student needs. Then, it is hoped that this Teaching
Civic activity can provide a new atmosphere and knowledge for children in around Cokroaminoto 2 Surakarta Vocational School because the teachers who attend are different
every week,” she concluded.
