FKIP – Accounting Education Student Association (Himapaksi) Teaching and Science Faculty Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Webinar on Accounting Education Achievers (Active) 2022 with the theme “Finding Opportunity for Your Skill to Become a Better Future”. This webinar will be held online on Saturday (26/11/2022) via the Zoom Meeting application.
This activity has 4 objectives. The four objectives are to increase the potential of FKIP UNS students in the academic field, to provide them with the ability to argue or express opinions through debate forums, to provide them with the ability to express ideas in writing through essay forums, and to develop students’ skills in making Student Creativity Program (PKM) proposals. . By this goal, the webinar is divided into 3 classes, namely PKM Class, Essay, and Debate.
In his remarks, Kus Indrani Listyoningrum as General Chairperson of Himapaksi FKIP UNS expressed his hopes for the implementation of this activity. He hopes that this activity will provide knowledge and understanding in the 3 areas discussed, namely PKM, essays, and debates.
“Active 2022 is a forum for students, especially at FKIP UNS, to think critically about the development of issues in Indonesia by expressing their ideas in 3 forms, namely PKM, essays, and debates. We hope that the participants will get a stock of knowledge in these 3 fields. We also hope that the participants can implement the knowledge gained in various competitions,” Kus hoped.
After the opening session, the participants were divided into 3 classes according to their interests, namely PKM, essay, and debate. Each class presents 1 speaker. The speaker for the PKM class was Hasna Azzahra. He was the winner of PKM Exact Research 2021 funding and PKM Community Service 2022. He explained material starting from an overview of PKM, the benefits of participating in PKM, 8 areas of PKM funding, steps to take part in PKM, tips on getting through funding, tips on passing PIMNAS, to the PKM writing structure. In his presentation, Hasna said there were 5 benefits of participating in PKM.
“Why do you have to join PKM? There are 5 reasons, namely PKM is a prestigious activity held by the Directorate General of Higher Education. Then, you can get funding to do the project.MBKM activity recognized. If you pass PIMNAS then you can be equated with free thesis trials, but this returns to the policies of each study program. Finally, you will get a new experience,” said Hasna.

The essay class speaker is Helda Dwi Hariyani. He won 1st place in the World Patient Safety Day Scientific Essay Competition. He presented the material with the title “Essay is Easy”. In his presentation, he explained the general description of essays, types of essays, differences between essays and scientific writing (KTI), essay structure, and tips and tricks for writing essays. According to him, there are 8 tips and tricks for writing essays.
“What are the tips and tricks for writing essays? So, here are 8 tips and tricks, namely reading references or other people’s works, supporting circles, following guidebooks or guide book, avoiding plagiarism, consulting, taking part in competitions, preparing for presentations, and praying,” said Helda.
Meanwhile, the speaker for the debate class was Akhmad Mukhibun. He won 3rd place in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s 2021 Indonesian Inter-Student Language Debate. He brought the material entitled “Achieving in the Indonesian Language Debate”. In this material, he explained 4 main points. The four points are descriptions of Indonesian debate, Indonesian debate achievements, steps for a debate competition, and successful strategies for Indonesian debate. He explained that there are 6 steps to debate competition.
“What needs to be done to participate in the debate competition? There are 6 steps you can take, namely forming a solid team, enthusiastic, and being ready to learn. Then, search for information. Use the hashtags#debate competition, #nationaldebate,#student debate, and so on. Then, prepare the team that has been formed through sparring debate. Do a debate simulation with an accredited judge or debate practitioner. Remember! The debate competition is a team competition. Make sure the arguments presented are ‘solid’ with the team’s arguments. Finally, help each other between speakers, “explained Akhmad.
