FKIP – Student Creativity Program (PKM) Team of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta won a Silver Medal for PKM Presentation – Application of Science and Technology (PI). Supervised by Dr. Danar Susilo Wijayanto, ST, M.Eng., the team consisted of Puthut Alfi Syahri Kurniawan, Ramanda Ridho Barokah, Muhammad Iqbal Amar, Dwi Yudha Meydiansyah, and Iksan Riva Nanda. The five students came from the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program (PTM).

The 35th National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) in 2022 is being held by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) from 30 November to 4 December 2022. At this event, they presented an innovation in the form of an integrated purus wood machine to increase the productivity of the furniture industry at UD. Sunarso Furniture.

The machine functions to increase the effectiveness of one-time cutting with an integrated wood purus machine. This machine can increase the effectiveness of cutting and speed up the process of making purus wood. Met by the Journalist Team fkip.uns.ac.id on Friday (9/12/2022), Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. as the Dean of FKIP UNS congratulates and appreciates the achievement of this achievement.

“We congratulate the FKIP UNS PKM Team for the achievements. We also express our appreciation to the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Dr. Danar Susilo Wijayanto, ST, M.Eng. as the supervising lecturer, the FKIP UNS Student Affairs Unit Team, and all parties who have accompanied students from the start of preparing proposals to getting medals,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

Further, Dr. Mardiyana revealed that this achievement would be used as an evaluation and benchmark in welcoming the Pimnas next year.

“UNS brought 3 PKM teams to the 35th Pimnas event, where 2 teams came from FKIP UNS and only 1 team managed to bring home a medal. Of course, we should be grateful for this regardless of the budget reduction from the center. These results will be used as an evaluation as well as a benchmark for us, especially by the FKIP UNS Student Unit Team to prepare for next year’s Pimnas event,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

In line with that, Puthut Alfi Syahri Kurniawan as the Head of the FKIP UNS PKM Team expressed his gratitude when contacted by the Journalist Team fkip.uns.ac.id on Sunday (11/12/2022).

“The feeling of being declared a champion is very happy and also touching because all the effort we have put in, starting from compiling a proposal, making the product itself, and making various adjustments to the product, has paid off with this achievement,” said Puthut.

On the same occasion, Puthut also thanked all parties involved in their process.

“We thank Allah for allowing us to make our beloved alma mater proud. Thanks to Dr. Danar Susilo Wijayanto. ST, M.Eng. as our supervisor who continues to monitor and evaluate our team. We also thank the UNS PKM Center Team and the FKIP UNS Student Unit Team for providing support to us as well as the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program for providing facilities and infrastructure during the process of making our products. Finally, thank you to all those who have provided support, both in the form of support and in the form of constructive input,” said Puthut.

Lastly, Puthut shared tips on participating in the PKM. He also hopes that in the future more teams will qualify for funding.

“When proposing, please follow all the formats in the PKM guidebook because if the administration is not appropriate, it will automatically be disqualified. Second, make sure your proposals are by the chosen PKM scheme because it can affect the failure of the proposal before it goes into Dikti funding. Then, make sure the proposed program is in line and its progress. Keep the team cohesiveness because this is important during the process. Lastly, always monitor and evaluate the program with supervisors. Hopefully next year there will be more proposals that pass funding from UNS,” said Puthut.
