FKIP – Professor of the Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Nunuk Suryani, M.Pd. officially appointed Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The inauguration was carried out by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/2/2023).

Prof. Nunuk said she would carry out his duties as Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel as well as possible.

“I ask for your blessings and support. I hope I can carry out this mandate. I am committed to solving teacher problems throughout Indonesia,” explained Nunuk, Saturday (25/2/2023), as launched from uns.ac.id.

Prof. Nunuk thanked all UNS academics who provided encouragement and support.

“I can be at this point thanks to the support from the UNS extended family. Even the Chancellor of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, was very supportive and permitted me to participate in the Ministry of Education and Culture,” added Prof. Nunuk.

Before pursuing a career in Jakarta, in 1990, Prof. Nunuk became a teaching staff at the S-1 History Education FKIP UNS. Then from 2017 to 2020, Prof. Nunuk was appointed Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Principal Development and Empowerment Institute.

Even at the same time, she was also entrusted with becoming the Head of the UNS Education Development and Quality Assurance Institute until June 2020. Then in 2020, the woman born in Karanganyar on November 8, 1966, received the mandate as Secretary of the Directorate General of GTK, Ministry of Education and Culture.

“So before being appointed Director General, I became the Secretary of the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology and concurrently as Plt eight months ago. Director General GTK. I was called to take part in this selection and from various candidates. Alhamdulillah, I was chosen to carry out this mandate,” he added.

Meanwhile, UNS Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. admitted that he was proud because one of the FKIP UNS teaching staff was appointed Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This shows that the government’s trust in UNS lecturers has increased.

“Before becoming Director General, Prof. This Nunuk became the Secretary-General and then Plt. Director General Teachers and Education Personnel. This shows her good achievements. Therefore, I wish congratulations and success to Prof. Nunuk Suryani for her appointment as the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology,” said Prof. Jamal.
