Meanwhile, the last judge in this competition was Arko Kilat Kusumaningrat, a Surakarta City humanist.

Then, the art exhibition was held in Building F, 2nd and 3rd floor of FKIP UNS. In this exhibition, the FKIP UNS Academic Community artworks were exhibited. These works include paintings, batik fabrics, eco prints, building miniatures, etc.

The activity began with a speech by the Head of the Committee for the 47th UNS Anniversary held by FKIP UNS, Dr. Djono, M.Pd. He is also the Deputy Dean of Planning, Business Cooperation, and Information. In his speech, he explained a series of events for the 47th UNS Anniversary held by FKIP UNS.

“The series of activities to celebrate the 47th UNS Anniversary held by FKIP UNS have been going on for some time, from table tennis matches, field tennis, futsal, and national seminar. So, the activities of the National Traditional Dress Competition and Exhibition, as well as the cultural arts festival, which will be held tonight, will be the highlight. Then, tomorrow will be closed with the Joint Health Walk activity, “said Dr. Djono.

Furthermore, Dr. Djono also said that this activity was a means to revitalize and preserve the archipelago’s traditional culture to filter out external cultures that shifted traditional culture.

“This Traditional Dress Competition and Art Exhibition has been held for the last 2 years. This activity will become the annual agenda of FKIP UNS in celebrating UNS’s Anniversary. This is because this activity can be a forum for revitalizing the archipelago’s traditional culture, which has local wisdom and preserves culture as a Pancasila Fortress to filter out foreign cultures that shift traditional culture,” said Dr. Djono.

The activity was opened directly by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. He also gave a speech on this occasion. He explained that the Traditional Dress Contest and Art Exhibition activities culminated in UNS 47th Anniversary celebrations organized by FKIP UNS.

“This year, the policy from the university regarding the implementation of anniversary activities may only be held from February to March. However, given that March 23 is the first day of fasting, FKIP UNS agreed to end the celebration before that date. So, today FKIP UNS will hold the peak of the anniversary celebration by holding a Traditional Dress Contest and Art Exhibition,” explained Dr. Mardiyana.

At the end of his speech, he hoped this activity could foster friendship, become a forum for expressing art, and preserve culture.

“We hope this activity can foster friendship, cohesiveness, and kinship in the academic community. We also hope this activity can become a forum for FKIP UNS academics to channel their artistic and cultural spirit. Thus, FKIP UNS can preserve culture and produce cultured and professional teachers,” hoped Dr. Mardiyana.
