FKIP – Tuesday (13/6/2023), the Citizenship Political Philosophy Group Research Team (RG) of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (Prodi) of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a community service activity to the community (PkM) with the topic of Training and Assistance in the Development of Pancasila Education Materials for Middle School Level on the Elements of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia with a Numerical Literacy Orientation. The activity was held offline in the Pacitan 3 Public Middle School Hall.
Chaired by Dr. Winarno, M.Sc., The Citizenship Political Philosophy RG Team consists of 6 members. The six members are Dr. Moh. Muchtarom, M.S.I., Dr. Machmud, M.Sc., Dr. Rusnaini, M.Sc., Erna Yuliandari, S.H., M.A., Anis Suryaningsih, S.Pd., M.Sc., and Dr. Machmud Al-Rashid, M.Sc.
The dedication activity of the Citizenship Political Philosophy RG Team results from a PkM grant facilitated by the UNS Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM). This activity was attended by teachers who are members of the Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) for PPKn SMP/MTs in the Pacitan Regency. The Pacitan District MGMP PPKn Middle School was used as a research location because the teachers needed skills to develop teaching materials on elements of Unity in Diversity and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia oriented or based on numeracy literacy.
The community service activities of the Citizenship Political Philosophy RG Team consisted of 2 sessions. The first session activities were carried out offline at the Pacitan 3 Public Middle School Hall. The activity was opened by the Head of the Pacitan Regency Education Office, Ir. Budiyanto M.M. After that, the activity continued with the presentation of the material. Dr. Machmud Al-Rashid, M.Sc. delivered the first material. He explained the Analysis of Learning Outcomes of Elements of Unity in Diversity and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia for Pancasila Education Subjects at the Middle School Level (Independence Curriculum).
The presentation was continued with Examples of Material Elements of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and NKRI with Numerical Literacy Orientation by Dr. Rusnaini, M.Sc., Erna Yuliandari, S.H., M.A., and Anis Suryaningsih, S.Pd., M.Sc. Meanwhile, the last presentation on Organizing and Developing Unity in Diversity and the Unitary Republic of Indonesia is Literacy Oriented into e-material by Dr. Winarno, M.Sc. and Dr. Muchtarom, M.Sc.
After this first session, participants were tasked with compiling sample materials for approximately one month with assistance. The results of the work will be reviewed at the second session meeting, which will be held on August 8, 2023.
The RG Team of Citizenship Political Philosophy of FKIP UNS hopes that this activity can improve the pedagogical abilities or competencies of Civics teachers, especially in the competency of developing teaching materials on the elements of Unity in Diversity and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia orientated towards literacy and numeracy. They also hope that this activity will have a positive effect on improving the teaching skills of teachers and have an impact on improving student learning achievement.
