FKIP – Master’s (S-2) Indonesian Language Education Study Program (PBI) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a workshop entitled Photography and Videography Arts. The workshop was attended by undergraduate students online via the Zoom application and master’s students offline in the Meeting Room, Building F FKIP UNS.

The workshop began with remarks by the Head of the PBI FKIP UNS Masters Study Program, Prof. Dr. Sumarwati, M.Pd. In his speech, he said this activity is an annual study program.

“This activity is carried out routinely every year. The topic of taking photos or videos with art will be significant. Therefore, this public lecture invited speakers from photography and videography practitioners,” said Prof. Sumarwati.

Furthermore, he said that the arts of photography and videography support graduates’ professionalism. Especially graduates who are involved in the world of education, so students must make the best use of this activity.

Apart from that, Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Sc., as Deputy Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, FKIP UNS, in his opening remarks, expressed his thanks to the PBI UNS Masters Study Program for its initiation in holding the workshop.

“Thank you for organizing this workshop activity. S1, S2, and S3 graduates carry a high level of responsibility. “You must be able to compete with other graduates,” explained Prof. Subiyantoro.

He also said that the workshop was very appropriate to carry out. The hope is that it can be developed simultaneously and provide a significant contribution from graduates of the PBI FKIP UNS Masters Study Program.

The workshop invited Patra Manggala Bima Pradana, the Founder of Starline Videography and Photography. He delivered material about the science and art of photography and videography.

“Everyone can take photos and make their videos, but many still don’t know the terms and tips to get maximum results from photos and videos,” explained Bima.

Bima also added that paying attention to every stage in carrying out photography and videography is important. If something fails at even one location, it must be repeated.
