FKIP – Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a leadership exercise with the theme “Manage Yourself, Be Adaptive and Contributive” which was held online on Friday (6/8) /2021) via the Zoom Cloud Meeting application.

This national leadership exercise was guided by Agus Tri Susilo, S.Pd., M.Pd. as a lecturer in the Guidance and Counseling (BK) Study Program of FKIP UNS. Meanwhile, the two speakers who attended were Bagus Tito Wibisono, S.Pd. as Presidium of Nusantara Youth Forum 2018-2021 and Dharmaji Suradika as CEO of Leader.id.

The activity began with the opening, listening to the anthem Indonesia Raya, and remarks by Dr. Mardiyana. M.Sc., as the Dean of FKIP UNS. In his speech, Dr. Mardiyana said that it was very important for students to learn leadership attitudes, especially with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in a pandemic situation that requires students to be adaptive and follow technological developments, and be able to contribute anywhere.

“Starting from students, they have to learn leadership attitudes. With the Industrial Revolution 4.0, much has to be learned in order to adapt to existing conditions. Students must be able to contribute anywhere, in the family, in institutions, in the community, that’s what students make a lot of contributions to. Don’t count the contributions given, the more useful, very competent, and the life is blessed,” said Dr. Mardiyana.

The activity continued with the presentation of material by the CEO of Pemimpin.id, Dharmaji Suradika who explained material about the concept of leadership. Dharmaji said that the concept of leadership was very diverse. A leader can mean a person who helps a lot, who can’t calm down at the sight of unrest. Leaders also mean youths who when they see injustice then take action. The concept of a leader is not based on a title, but who is able to solve problems in society, has a vision, leads by example, invites, and moves.

“People who are called leaders are people who help a lot, who can’t sleep when they see the unrest. Leaders are young people who see injustice and act. Those leaders are all of us who know who we are, who find social problems, and solve them by thinking, and implementing, and inviting others, ” said Dharmaji.

After the presentation by Dharmaji, the activity was continued by the presentation of the second speaker, namely Bagus Tito Wibisono, S.Pd. as Presidium of Nusantara Youth Forum. The material presented by Bagus discussed self-management.

“It is very important to write down our goals, both long-term and short-term goals. Even though there will be unexpected conditions so that there will be changes to the plans that have been prepared, it will make us adaptive to changes, and able to find other ways to achieve our goals,” Bagus explained.

The presentation of the material was followed by a discussion and question and answer session. In the first discussion session, there were three questions posed to the first speaker. Then, in the second discussion session, two questions were asked to Bagus. The activity ended with a group photo session.
