FKIP – The Postgraduate Student Association (HMP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta held a Webinar for Unggulan Scholarships with the theme “Explaining Completely Tips and Tricks to Join Unggulan Scholarship with Awardee Unggulan Scholarship” on Sunday (8/8/2021) online via Zoom Cloud Meeting.
The event began with the opening, singing the anthem Indonesia Raya and opening remarks. In his remarks, Dr. Prasetyo Adi Wisnu Wibowo, S.S., M.Hum. as the supervisor of the HMP UNS, said that this webinar was very good because it would help students get various tips and tricks to qualify for scholarships, especially this flagship scholarship.
“This webinar will be very good, because it explains how we get scholarships, tips, and tricks to qualify for scholarships, such as LPDP, Unggulan Scholarship, or other private scholarships,” explained Dr. Prasetyo.
The core activity was filled by Zikry Septoyadi, S.Pd., as the recipient of the Excellence Scholarship at the undergraduate and master levels. Zikry explained about the Kemdikbudristek Unggulan Scholarship and the scope of funding provided.
“The Ministry of Education Unggulan scholarships are educational assistance provided to undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students with funding covering tuition, living costs, and book fees,” Zikry explained.
In addition, Zikry also conveyed tips and tricks for writing excellent scholarship essays. Students need to write down what contributions will be made to the country. He suggested writing a concrete contribution, starting from the regions or the countryside. The contribution outlined in the essay must answer the problem and be realistic for students to do.
“Tips related to essays for applying for Unggulan Scholarships, namely focusing on how scholarship recipients are able to contribute to the country in a concrete way. Raise the aspects that students are most likely to do, such as focusing on the region or being able to solve regional problems,” he said.
Zikry also explained that starting in 2021 the rules regarding priority Study Programs no longer exist, so the benefits of this scholarship can be felt by all students. The most important rule for scholarship recipients is that the GPA must comply with the provisions and strive to graduate on time. Meanwhile, the outcome of this scholarship program expects the recipient to be able to contribute to society and the country. The webinar ended with the distribution of doorprize for the participants.
