FKIP – New students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta for the 2021/2022 academic year have been declared to have completed the series of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FKIP UNS 2021. This series of activities for the 2021 FKIP UNS, was closed officially by the Deputy Dean I for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FKIP UNS, Prof. Dr. Slamet Subiyantoro, M.Si. via Zoom Cloud Meeting and the official YouTube channel of FKIP UNS on Monday (16/8/2021).

In the closing, Prof. Slamet provided provisions in the form of Mijil’s song, which was his hope for new students of FKIP UNS. Mijil song is one of the macapat songs which means new birth or migration. This is related to the status of new students of FKIP UNS, namely from school students to university students.

“If you weren’t active before, now you have to be active. If you didn’t think about achievement before, you have to be an achievement. If you were in high school you were still playing games, now we have to be serious, creative, innovative,” said Prof. Slamet.

Furthermore, Prof. Slamet welcomed the new students of FKIP UNS for being part of the big family of the UNS campus.

“Welcome to our beloved campus at the beautiful faculty of FKIP BAGUS, if you have entered FKIP, you must have an ACTIVE culture and also have an accelerated pattern of behavior and have a global perspective,” he added.

The series of PKKMB FKIP UNS activities lasted for two days, namely on Sunday-Monday (15-16/8/2021) which was attended by 2,084 students. Meanwhile, the agenda of activities on the first day consisted of opening and remarks from the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Si. in the form of an official opening, introduction to faculty leaders, information related to student affairs and academics, as well as the material presentation from several speakers.

The second day was filled with Greeting Study Program activities carried out by each Study Program, the introduction of Student Activity Units (UKM) in FKIP UNS, and continued closing of the event.

As a form of vent and expression, many of the new FKIP UNS students shared feelings of joy, sadness, and longing for their respective social media accounts using the hashtags #ARKANAWIRA and #PKKMBFKIPUNS2021.

I’m happy, I am officially FKIP UNS 2021 freshman, you will miss the excitement of the event. Even though it’s online, it’s still impressive @generationfkipuns #ARKANAWIRA,” wrote the account Twitter @lkstrhm.

The Twitter account @auliarfani also shared her impression of joining the PKKMB FKIP UNS this year.

“PKKMB FKIP UNS 2021 is really exciting, even though there are many tasks coupled with my very difficult signal, but it can practice my responsibilities. Oh yes, I often stay up late but that’s okay, that’s all for training @generationfkipuns #ARKANAWIRA # PKKMBFKIPUNS2021,” wrote the account @auliarfani.
